Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:
Look at the section for the "Rear Panel".
It sounds like a leaking "Water Inlet Valve".
See the following Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers with a component testing section.
Also see the following for how to access the console, remove the cabinet and get access to the rear panel.
The "Manufacturer Authorized Substitution" numbers are Whirlpool numbers, meaning that you can likely get a replacement valve at many local appliance repair parts stores as well as from Sears.
