Can you indicate the model of your phone? And do you have any other computers/gadgets that connects to the wifi? Because if you do, you need to focus on the phone and try not to mess up w/ the router yet . Perhaps tyr to "forget the network" and reconnect back. if this diesnt work you can chage wireless seurity settings or add the IP addreess manually.

Open the router's GUI with 192.168.1.1 if it is a linksys/netgear router login with username - leave blank password - admin for linksys router
Click on wireless tab on top- Select Manual - Wireless n/w mode - mixed, Network name SSID(Remove linksys and type the name you want to give to wireless network), Radio band channel- Std.20Mhz. Wide Channel - Grayed out,Std.Channel-6.2.437GHz. , Broadcast of SSID - Enabled,Save settings, Click on wireless security (Under sub tab of wireless) - Security mode - WPA - Personal - Type the password you want to create for wireless. Try to search for wireless networks and try to connect. At times you not able to connect - So try to remove the preferred networks from list.

Synario for win xp -
Start - Control Panel-Network and internet- Network Connections - Rt. click on w/l n/w connection - View available w/l n/w - Click on Changed Adv. settings - Click on w/l n/w tab in btwn the general and advance - Remove the prefrerred networks from list. And now click ok - come out from ever y window and click on the pop up whuich says network detected/One or more n/w found in range- Click on the w/l name belongs to you - And hit connect - Type you security key and all set.

At times you not able to see w/l tab btween general and advance -
Thn Click on start - type services.msc in run - Rt. click on Wireless Zero Configuration (Myt be last or second last option from list) Click on start- And now try to connect to w/l after removing the preferred networks from list.

Cant get wireless router to work on laptop

First, try to connect your laptop hardwired to the router, if it works fine, its just the wireless configuration. Make sure you are using the correct wireless network key to connect to your wireless network. Go to the Control Panel > Network Connections > Right-click Wireless Network Connection > Properties > Wireless Networks Tab and delete all the names listed under Preferred Networks box. Click Ok. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection again > View Available Wireless Network > Choose your own network and click Connect. If it asks you to type the network key, type in your WEP or Wireless Network Key and press connect. That should do it.

Wnr834b passphrase won't work

Hello jsnow4 & cooler34788,

For vista OS;
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I suggest you try:

1. Go to "Control Panel" ( switch it to classic view )
2. Click " Network & Sharing Center"
3. At the left side of " Network & Sharing Center", click Manage Wireless Connection ( under task)
4. Delete the profiles of your Wireless connections particulary the one you named for your Netgear wireless ( this is also known as SSID).
5. Click close including "network & Sharing Center"

Connecting to a Wireless Network on Windows Vista:

a. Click Start then select Connect To.
b. Connect to a network window will show up.
c. Select your wireless network's name or SSID and click Connect.
Since this is an unsecured wireless, Vista will warn you if you wanna connect anyways. Go ahead and connect.

From the above configuration, please check if you can now access the Internet.

Connect to the router from the desktop and enable wireless.

if you have windows XP

Click on the start menu, go to run
-> in the run prompt type: ncpa.cpl
--> right click on you wireless network connection, go to the wireless network tab, removed your network from the list of prefered networks
---> now try to re-connect

if you have windows vista

click on the start menu, go to the control panel, look for an icon called network and sharing center (switch to classic view if you don't see it), then go in the tasks to "manage wireless network connections" and remove your network from the list using the green minus sign button

Laptop connects, but main computer doesn't....

if you have the router set to enable dhcp which gives your network cards an ip address automatically, then check that the network card of the main pc is set to obtain ip addresss automatically, this is in network connections, right click on network connection icon, properties and on the TCP/IP line click properties and check that 'obtain ip address automatically is ticked, apply and ok. Igf you have tried to repair the connection using wizard, then your settings will have been changed, thats possibly the problem. Also go into the routers settings and see if the main pc is listed under dhcp clients and that an ip address is given.
