I took a picture, i turn off the camera. 5 minutes later i turn on, but the screen was black and it's still black...

what could i do to fix that...

  • Anonymous Mar 28, 2008

Even I faced the same problem. My Cybershot W80 was working fine, one day (Mar 23rd 2008) when i turned on the camera power, all i could see was a blank screen.

    Any suggestions?

The lense of the camera will move in and out twice but the screen remains black. If I try and take a picture it will instruct me to turn the camera off and then back on, but the same thing happens. I can review pictures on he memory card but cannot take any newpictures.

The back light is not working. To verify take a flash light and put it at a sharp angle at the edge of the LCD and you should see images on the LCD. They will be very faint but you will see them

Mine has been doing the same.   try pressing the DISP button (it's the up button).
otherwise it may be one of the models that has the defect. Sony Support Website

SOURCE: sony cyber-shot dsc-w200 taking blurry pictures in auto mode...

Its due to slow shutter speed setting.
If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.

My LCD dose not display anything. If I take a picture nothing shows up at all only a black screen. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 is about 2 and half years old. Please help and many thanks My shutter...

Unless it has recently been dropped or the screen cracked, the LCD power drive circuit has failed. Your batteries sound OK if it is taking pictures. 2 and a half years is not an unreasonable life for this camera. I would spend my money and time working toward a new one rather than repairs. Sometimes you can find one on Ebay for parts and may be worth a purchase but don't waste anything on a factory repair. Taking them apart and replacing components is not that difficult and procedures can be obtained online from digital camera REPAIR FORUMS.
