If player is off and disconnected from PC,
1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website
2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

You will now be able to load the firmware upgrade by clicking on the update tab in Philips Device Manager. The firmware upgrade should resolve the issue permanently.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

I hit stop/start button, green light illuminates, hit again, green flashes, but no music. have tried volume controls and both sets of earplugs. i have confirmed that music is loaded.

If a green light is flashing on the player the shuffle button in the middle of the player is being pressed changing the players mode from continuous play to shuffle mode. To activate the player to listen to music you must hold the power button down on the right side of the player for about 3 seconds. Help me please

First I'd try connecting it to your computer and waiting for itunes to load. Then click on your ipod shuffle on the left hand side under "devices" and under settings click on restore.

This will restore your shuffle to factory defaults.

Then try loading songs again and listen for music. Make sure the volume is at a sufficient level as well.

Red and yellow flashing light

If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.
