Re: MY PHILIPS MP3 PLAYER ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY
If player is off and disconnected from PC, 1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website 2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button 3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new You will now be able to load the firmware upgrade by clicking on the update tab in Philips Device Manager. The firmware upgrade should resolve the issue permanently.

If iPod shuffle isn’t playing music â iPod shuffle might not have any music on it. If you hear the message “Please use iTunes to sync music,” connect iPod shuffle to your computer to sync music to it. â Slide the three-way switch off and then on again. â Make sure the earphone or headphone connector is pushed in all the way. â Make sure the volume is adjusted properly. A volume limit might be set. See “Setting a Volume Limit” on page 25. â iPod shuffle might be paused. Try clicking the Center button on the earphone remote
If a green light is flashing on the player the shuffle button in the middle of the player is being pressed changing the players mode from continuous play to shuffle mode. To activate the player to listen to music you must hold the power button down on the right side of the player for about 3 seconds. I would go ahead and try the firmware update to see if it resolves your issue - for the firmware update to work, you have to get the most recent version of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website. It will erase all the songs in the GoGear, so make sure you have them backed up.
Recovery Mode for Philips' GoGear Open the Philips Device Manager (Start à All Programs à Philips Digital Audio Player à SAXXX à Philips Device Manager) and click on the “Repair” tab. Then click on the “Repair” button to start the repair process. Most of the time, when your player is in that state, the Device Manager will not recognize that your GoGear is plugged in.If this is the case: Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
Since you cannot see what you are doing on the screen, I will tell you what buttons to push to un-shuffle your songs. Press the buttons in the exact order I tell you. Ok. Turn off the mp3 player, then turn it back on. Press the little menu button. Push the left arrow button once. Press the play button 3 times slowly. You are now in the menu that gives you the following options to unshuffle your music: 1. Off 2. Repeat single Track 3. Shuffle/No Repeat 4. Repeat all Tracks 5. Repeat all With Shuffle
I'm guessing that you may have to push the down arrow once or the up arrow once. This should select the Repeat all Tracks option. After scrolling up or down one time, press the play button once, then the menu button twice. Now push play to start your music. If this does not work, you can set your player back to the default settings by pushing the menu button once, pushing left arrow once, hit the play button. Scroll down 5 times, hit the play button, and push down 3 times. Be careful, because if you do not push the down arrow THREE times, you might accidentally select the option of erasing the memory.Once you push down 3 times and hit the play button, push down once more to select Yes of reseting your player back to it's original settings. This should help you out.
This is a coincidence. Reset the player, and then upgrade the firmware:
