Hello and welcome to FixYa.
to get picture from your laptop to your tv, there are few things you need to do.

First obviously connect the cable to the computer and to the tv.

Then make sure the tv is turned on and is on the proper channel.

Then you need to enable the picture output to the tv.

On laptop computers this can be easily done by pressing one of the Fn+F keys, which are F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11 and F12. a Combination of FN and one of the above keys will change the laptops settings to show image on the LCD display, LCD and External or External only. This varies brand to brand.

On a Acer Laptop the combination is FN+F5, on hp the combination could be FN+F4 or FN+F6. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out from the small icons on the keys.

If this doesn't work for some reason, then you need to enable the 2nd display from the display settings on your computer.

Todo that press start, then control panel, then find Display or screen settings. and from there possibly screen resolution or similar page as below

i still can not conect - 51e2edf.jpg

1. click on the number 2 display
2. change the setting to either extend or duplicate
3. click apply
4. click keep changes
5. close the window.

On other versions of windows you would right click on the number 2 and select Attach.

Now you should have picture on the tv. Or maybe you just have a blue background or your wallpaper there? Well, you can take any program, movie, video, etc, make sure its not set to full screen, then grab the window from the top, and move it to the right side of your display, and then out from it, it then appears on the 2nd display. as shown on this video::

I have a zx4800 touchscreen gateway and i want to conect it with the tv is it possible ?

You may be able to add a second monitor. You need a USB video adapter to get an external video port. There are no external video ports on the ZX4800 all-in-ones. Here is an example USB VGA adapter: . DVI and HDMI versions also exist. These aren't the greatest solution so don't use them for gaming.

These will work if the TV has a compatible port. If your TV has VGA input, you are fine with this option. If your TV has HDMI inputs, you need to check the specifications. Some TVs have HDMI ports that do not interpret the signal from a computer. If your TV only has composite or component video inputs, you will need a converter from VGA (RGB) to the TVs input. (Component is YPbPr.) One option is . VGA to component video cables do not work; those are meant for projectors that understand the RGB encoding.

I hope this helps.

Msi tv out

If the TV has a VGA port, then you can connect the U100 directly to the TV. Otherwise, you will need a converter depending on the inputs of the TV.

In the case of a VGA port on the TV, turn off the TV and the netbook before connecting the two devices. Then turn on the TV and set it to the VGA input. Then turn on the computer. The monitor should be recognized when the OS boots up. You can press <Fn>+<F2> to force the communication. In the Display properties (right click on the desktop), you should be able to change the display mode.

For composite video, the converter option uses devices like these: . Again turn off all devices before connecting them and turn on the computer last. If a TV has only an RF (antenna) input, you can connect the VGA to composite converter to an RF modulator. However, signal losses may degrade the video.

I hope this helps.

My tv is a sanyo ds31590. I need to connect to an acer aspire 5253-bz692 in order to watch netflix. What cable do I need?

You'll need a VGA to Composite or Component Cable. Asuming you have RCA Composite/Component Connections on your TV.

I'll Look something like this:
funnyx_1.jpg VGA to Composite
VGA to Component
Make sure you TV has @least one of these 3 colored group inputs in front or in back of it. 1. Composite (Mono): Yellow, White or Red
2. Composite (Stereo): Yellow, White, Red 3. Component: Red, Green, Blue
If you don't have any of those then you'll need This Along with a Splitter.
Hope this helps, if it does then please remember to leave Feedback/Testimonial.

Conecting Wii to a Phillips lcd tv. rwy cords. but the picture is in black & white ?? i have sound. tried different connections eg: red to green conections & the only one that works is still black...

it sounds like you may be trying to plug a standard composit video cable (yellow) into a component video input (red, green, and blue)
these are actually two different connections. Most LCD tv's will have both options (sometimes there in weird different spots on the tv tho) if you don't have a standard RGB (red, white, and yellow composite video input) then you may need to purchase a component cable either at a local store or you can get one for $5 on Ebay
hope it helps!
~good luck!

How do I hook my tv up to my acer netbook? I dont have a tv port but do have a port for a second moniter and have the cord to hook it up but it will not work...

If the TV doesn't have a VGA input, you have two options. If the TV has component video inputs (3 RCA jacks color-coded red, green and blue, not just a single video jack coded yellow), you can use a simple adapter cable. Here is an example.

If your TV only has a single yellow video input jack (called composite video) you can't use the simple cable. But you can get a VGA to video converter. This device takes the VGA signals and converts them to the form the TV can use.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

I am trying to hook up my tv with a vga to av(rca) cable, but I can't get it to work. What do I have to do to get it to work?

If your notebook has RCA composite video out, you need to hook it up to TV composite video input jack, usually the color of this RCA jack will be yellow. Why do you not use the VGA port on the back of the note book to feed the signal into the TV's VGA connector, just mke sure to set the resolution of the laptop to be at TV native resolution.
