Sister has model DC14 that is difficult to push. No strings - no obvious thing constricting use.

May be set for hard floors, turning the large nob at the end of the brush head should solve this, can't remember which way you have to turn it so may have to try both ways. Hope this helps.

My machine froze/seized up while I was sewing. Does it need a new motor?

Not necessarily unless you have burnt it out trying to make it go.
Its most likely clogged with cotton fibres underneath the needle plate and the bobbin. Give it a good clean out.

How to fix height adjuster on hoover runabout vacuum?

It probably is not broken. It only operates when you recline the handle into the vacuuming position. At that time it goes to whatever setting you have it set on. When it is in the full upright position, it will be in the highest setting no matter where the nob is set.

I'm replacingthe head assembly and can not get the adjustment nob off, its connected t the chutch, and I can't get back together without getting the nob off?

The clutch knob is held on by two tabs. If the knob is translucent you can see the tabs. I stick a small screwdriver under the knob on the top of the vacuum and another one under the vacuum on the opposite side of the knob. You have to position the screwdrivers just right to get the knob to release. It takes some trial and error to figure out where the release tabs are located.

I have a continental electric sewing machine, but I lost the instructions. I've figured out the top thread, I don't know how to thread the bottom bobbin

on the bottom bobbin if you look you will see a small metal flap this is the bobbin tentioner simply make sure the thread is under this flap ,and the top needle will do the rest.adrian.

My belt fell off and i need to know how that and the brush part goes back on

you need to refer to the video to help you if you haved it other wise it can be done by turning thr plastic nob which is almost flat on the fro\nt of the head. turn it all the way to the left and thyen push the haed against theunit and turn the knob all the way the other way if this doesnt work repeatit butg start with the nob turned akll the way to the rtight first.
