It sounds like the battery may be going bad, not holding a charge anymore, or the processor may be overheating and shutting itself down as a precaution. Some BIOS may have a temp reading if you enter the bios at boot up, usually by pressing del key or F1 key, it should tell you at reboot, right at the first second or two after power is turned on "press del key to enter setup" or something similar.
If your BIOS does not have a temp readout, you can download freeware temp reading tools from cnet.com.
Make sure that your fan is blowing out the port in the back and that it is not obstructed by something.
If it is none of these, you may have a virus, In which case, try the following:
While the system is booting --before the xpTravelMate 3260-4542 ......getting message that - 2_bing.gif logo shows, hold down the F8 key. This will bring up a menu. Choose "start windows in safe mode with networking".
The os will start in safe mode. run a virus scan, defrag and scandisk, then restart the system. If is still wont run normally, do the same thing then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot2_bing.gif. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall the OS and see if that works. If reinstalling the OS after formating the drive doesn't fix it, it is definitely a hardware problem. good luck.
PLEASE RATE THIS ADVICE WITH SOME THUMBS UP!!!

Step 1:
Laptop computers can be wonderful devices, except when the need to troubleshoot arises. Acer laptops are no different. A quick way to fix many problems with an Acer laptop running Windows is to reset it to factory settings. Resetting your Acer laptop to factory settings can eliminate slow operation, registry problems, virus problems and spyware issues. What's more, a factory reset of your laptop may reduce the need for a full reinstallation of Windows.

Back up all necessary data to an external device such as a disk, flash drive or hard drive Make sure all programs are closed and shut down your Acer laptop. Detach any external hardware such as an external hard drive or printer. Press the Power button to boot your Acer laptop. Press "Alt-F10" on your keyboard when the Acer screen appears at the start of the boot-up process. Wait a moment while Windows loads the reset files. Select "Restore System from factory default" in the Acer eRecovery Management window. Click "Next" on the next screen to continue. Click "Next" on the following destination information window. This will pop up a notice telling you that resetting your Acer laptop will erase all data and restore the laptop to its original settings and configuration. Click "OK" in the notice window to proceed with resetting your Acer laptop. Wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Try holding down the Function key (Fn), then pressing F5. Wait a few seconds. On most laptop, each press of the F5 key will toggle between laptop display only, projector only and Dual (same image on both - my favorite).

You'll probably see a little Monitor-shaped icon on the F5 key. It's possible it's another function key - on Dells it's usually F8.

    Data saving error

I came to the point where I had done everything, restarted, closed the program in the task manager nothing would work. Every time I would hit any key even the X to close the program I would get the error. data saving error enitity exception. So finally I shut down the computer, disconnected the battery, waited about ten minutes started back up and so far it has worked without problems. Ever since My Deluxe Invoices made their last up grade I personally have had lots of issues with the update. Wish I could go back to one of the very first versions but with the ability to email statements. Thats the only upgrade I have found useful.

When loading saved game data I get a Data corrupt message

You need to make sure you have updated the PS3 as well as the games. You said you wait until the game is done saving, well just to make sure, check the HDD light isn't flashing (writing information). Also you should not just shut down from the game, quit game then shut down the system. If you are shutting it down with the switch in the back, shut down "softly" (holding down the PS button and selecting shutdown) then turn off in the back.

Travelmate 2310 keyboard and touchpad problem

Boot up the system (without the battery).
When the system runs normaly then place the battery on its normal bay.
Shut down bij removing the power from the system.
    * Make sure you have not installed any Windows power saving tools, meaning let it run on the battery till it dies *
Wait till the systems shuts down by itself.
Boot your system again (with the battery in its bay and everything will work out fine.
Shuting down by removing the power support (AC) booting up AND your keyboard with touchpad will work again.
So intill you have a new battery, you need to shut-down by removing the AC power and leave the battery in its bay.
You can not shut-down on the normal way any more untill you have replaced the battery.
