This is usually caused by the dryer coils. They tend to fail as they heat up. Here are some other things to check.
First check your venting if all is clear It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

My dryer takes hours to dry one load of clothes. Cleaned all lint from it. It's warm, not hot. Flame is on.

you need to either dismantle the venting pipe ductwork inside the dryer and get inside the duct and loosen all dried on lint which is holding moisture in,otherwise the cycling switch for the flame is cutting out tooooo sooooon and your not drying the load properly per selected load setting

You might want to replace the thermacouplar. Sometimes when they are going out , all will appear to be alright but as you stated it takes a long time for the flame to come back on. This sounds to me like the thermacouplar is going out.

The flame gose on and off it takes 2hr to dry

if the flame only lights once or twice when you first start your dryer, then afterwards the ignitor just glows yet the gas valve does not open producing fire the gas valve coils are defective.
however if the flame goes on and off all during the cycle as it is designed to and your only complaint is the length of time necessary and not that they do not heat i would suggest thoroughly cleaning out your vent line from where it exits the house back to the dryer. correct any crushing of the junk flexible hose by running rigid proper aluminum ducting and elbows to ensure adequate air flow through the exhaust duct.
best of luck,
ttfn

It takes far too long to dry towels.

The igniter is supposed to go on and off during the cycle. There is a sensor that could be replaced, but is rarely the problem in this instance. 99% of the time when the dryer is taking too long to dry, it is an air restriction. Usually lint is plugged up somewhere, or the vent run is too long.

I would sstart by replaceing the gas valve coils they are located on the top of the gas vavle . they will weaken over time and will not stay energized to open the primary and secondary vavle
