Code 10 normally signifies an error with the driver. If this drive isn't your main drive then remove any driver software that you can find. Then shut down the system and remove the drive. Turn your system back on and let it fully load the desktop. Then shut it down again. Replace the drive and make sure you have the latest driver for the disk drive. Turn the system back on and let Windows find the drive. If Windows can't find the driver automatically point the system to the place that you have the driver file.

What can I do to reboot new hard drive

So a new drive will of course, have nothing on it at all. Lets just say you are installing windows 7. With the windows 7 disk in the optic drive as the power is turned on - check for boot options at start up or hit your Del key to get in to the bios. Search bios for boot priorities - Set optical CD/DVD drive as primary (first boot) Make sure you can boot to the windows disk.. Once it sees the disk in the drive - follow the directions and the disk with start the install process. AFTER your windows os has loaded, you may need to find orphan drivers that did not load with the windows disk. You'll have to search Dell.com for proper drivers. Oh, huge - If the computer is running SATA 1 - Pentium 4 to first generation Core 2. You may need to hit your F4 key to add other drivers at the very beginning of the windows install.
The drivers most the time, show as a raid driver, but this is needed or your system will never install - The Hard drive will never be found.

Hope this helps.
Have a great night..

The Code 10 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. The Code 10 error will almost always display in the following way:
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Details on Device Manager error codes like Code 10 are available in the Device Status area in the device's properties: How To View a Device's Status in Device Manager.
Important: Device Manager error codes are exclusive to Device Manager. If you see the Code 10 error elsewhere in Windows, chances are it's a system error code which you should not troubleshoot as a Device Manager issue.
Cause of the Code 10 Error
A Code 10 error is generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device, a situation usually caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.
A device may also receive a Code 10 error if a driver generates an error that Device Manager doesn't understand. In other words, a Code 10 error can sometimes be a very generic message indicating some kind of unspecified driver or hardware problem.
Error Code 10 Troubleshooting
1.Restart your computer if you haven't done so already.
There is always the chance that the error Code 10 you're seeing on a device was caused by some temporary problem in Device Manager or with the hardware. If so, a reboot might fix the Code 10 error.

2.Did you install a device or make a change in Device Manager just before the Code 10 error appeared? If so, it's very possible that the change you made caused the Code 10 error.
Undo the change if you can, restart your PC, and then check again for the Code 10 error.
Depending on the changes you made, some solutions might include:
•Remove or reconfigure the newly installed device.
•Roll back the driver to a version prior to your update.
•Use System Restore to undo recent Device Manager related changes.
3.Reinstall the drivers for the device. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers for the device is a likely solution to a Code 10 error.
Important: If a USB device is generating the Code 10 error, uninstall every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers hardware category in Device Manager as part of the driver reinstall. This includes any USB Mass Storage Device, USB Host Controller, and USB Root Hub.

My dell dimension 4700will not boot at all or grab the recovery disk an d reads system 32 has errr

You get "system 32 error" - is there any further message such as HAL, or ROOT.HAL? You can usually fix this by starting up with your system disk in the drive and clicking on repair IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 7. If you have Windows XP, click on install and go to the screen that lets you click R (NOT repair console) to repair a previous installation. Follow the prompts in either case.

DELL 5150 hard drive error 7

Error code 7 means that your hard disk drive failed and is defective. As for reloading windows XP, I wouldn't. It's not supported by Microsoft any more. I would load Win 7 after replaceing the drive.

Dell dimension e310 desktop error message unmountable boot volu me

> unmountable

The disk-drive cannot be "mounted", i.e., the motherboard cannot access it

> boot volume

To "boot" a computer is to load a small "loader" program from the disk-drive;
that program "pulls-up-by-the-boot-straps", to read the rest of Windows from the disk-drive.

If the disk-drive has "failed", then you'll get messages like the one that you reported.

Replace the disk-drive.

Restart your computer.
Enter BIOS SETUP.
Check the list of disk-drives (and CD/DVD drives).
You have "manually" added a device that no longer is connected.
So, you get the "cannot find drive" is generated.
Disable/Remove the non-existent device,
and then you will not need to press 'F1' to continue.

Dell dimension wont boot after power outage and stops half way through the boot page

Hello,

The problem is with the corrupted boot files .In my opinion you have one solution
Steps for solution

1. Download an operating system called ' Linux mint ' which can be installed in the pen drive having minimum 4 gb capacity . Using this operating system you can access the computer .

2. Copy the file and folders to an external storage device (external hard disk, pen drive etc..)

3. Reinstall the operating system ( XP,Vista ,Window 7,Ubuntu etc )

Hope you be successful
