Start computer failure

Dear Guru & Wiz's.

When i start my computer in does not run..

I located a 'Recovery Disk' and turned the computer off and inserted the disk and then started the computer. The computer reboots so far and then prompts me to insert a 'Master CD 1' as i do not have a Master CD 1 i am wondering how i can obtain one and if a cost is involved.

Or if there is an alternative at all.

your help will be greatly appreciated.

Well..what they are most likely asking for is the original set of installation disks, that should have come with the computer when you got it. Have them around somewhere?

How do you go about to format a toshiba l650 and reinstall windows 7

Hi! If you have the Windows 7 disc just insert it restart the computer. It will boot directly from the disc. Then follow the step by step instructions here.
If you don't have the Windows 7 disc, you have two ways to reformat your Toshiba computer.
Using Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from the recovery partition
In case of a hard disk drive failure, you may be able to restore the drive to the factory default state using the on-disk Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility (in a special partition on the hard disk drive).
You can select restoring the entire hard disk drive to the factory default state, or restoring only the C: drive -- without affecting other partitions (for example, a D: drive) -- or changing the size allocated to your C: drive, and then restore it.
To recover your hard disk drive from a system failure using the utilities stored on your computers HDD, follow these steps:
  1. If the computer is running, shut it down -- by clicking Start, Shut Down, and again Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard and then press the computers power switch. When the computer turns on, the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting three options:

Restore Original Factory Image (Recommended)
CAUTION:
Restoring a hard disk drive to its factory default state deletes all partitions on the hard disk drive and all data stored on those partitions. All of your files and information will be lost! Be sure to back up all important files first.
  1. Press 1 to restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all data will be overwritten and lost during the restore process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
  2. Click Yes to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating the HDD has been restored.
  3. Press any key to restart the computer.
* The options 2 & 3 are for advanced users.
Hard Disk Drive Recovery using Recovery CDs or DVDs
You may also wish to to run the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from Recovery CDs or DVDs that you have created.

Insert the first Recovery CD or DVD into your CD/DVD drive, and turn on the computer. Once the computer is running, the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting the same three options above. Again Press 1 to
restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. Click Yes to begin the recovery. Press any key to restart the computer.

Installing Drivers and Applications
The TOSHIBA Application Installer allows you to reinstall the drivers and applications that were originally bundled with your computer.
To reinstall drivers and applications:
  1. Double-click the "Toshiba Application Installer" icon on the Windows desktop. This utility may also be launched by clicking Start -->All Programs --> Hard Disk Recovery Utilities.

    htd7c02140000r0136067.jpg

  2. Click "Next".
  3. Click the item(s) you wish to install. To select multiple items, hold down the Ctrl key as you click your selections.
  4. Click "Install".
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.

Hope this helps.

1781 - disk failure problem startup for HP nc 6220

This happens if the harddisk data is corrupted.
Hard disk has a data that the computer reads first before going to the operating system. To fix this to to do a debug or do a full format of the hard drive. Try to run a diagnostics first by pressing the F9 upon the HP logo. if it does not report any error run a recovery by pressing the F11 upon the HP logo then choose the SYSTEM RECOVERY. then simply follow the prompts to revive your computer to the original factory default. Do this a couple of times. If this will not work then most likely the recovery partition is deleted or corrupted. If you can still see the HP RECOVERY IMAGE, then go to START > COMPUTER / MY COMPUTER > right click and choose MANAGE > DISK MANAGEMENT > look for the HP RECOVERY IMAGE > right click and choose > SET AS ACTIVE PARTITION, then reboot the computer then simply follow the steps for the recovery.

After a long time trying to start my computer has a blank screen that says "system failure insert recovery disk" I have recovery disk that I made when the unit was new. but they do not do anything.

Try rebooting the computer with the back up disk inserted in the slot. This should work because the computer looks at all the disk drives when it reboots. And should default to the backup disk. :)

When I start my emachine T3306 gets a black screen with just the cursor? I do not have a system recovery disk. What do I do?

you need to get a operating system boot disk such as ultimate bood disk ( google) or you can go to your local computer store and purchase one of there products that have recovery disks. Your problem is either virus or hard drive failure or maybe system driver is hanging your system. The recovery cd will help you boot into your system and get some more info. You can also call your computer maker and purchase your install media kit which will contain your operaing system and drivers and once run will return your system to it's factory state when you purchased it. Your computer make will charge a fee for these disks, all computer manufacturers charge differently

My pc take restart again and again.

Check for bloated capacitors in your motherboard. It may be the reason why your system keeps on restarting. If there are bloated capacitors then its time for you to change the whole motherboard or the whole computer set itself. Or - Another reason could be that your computer is infected by a Sasser. If you see an error message window with count down, then it is infected by a sasser. Download sasser removers. Here is another way to stop it--- Use System Failure Settings to Stop Automatic Restarts.

1. Click Start and Open the Control Panel
2. Go to System and Maintenance, Click on System.
3. Select Advanced System Settings and choose Advance tab.
4. Under Startup and Recovery, click on Settings.
5. Under System failure uncheck Automatically restart.
Hope this helps!

Computer problem, help.

This generally indicates a hard drive crash/failure, in which the hard drive will need to be replaced. Rare, but occasionally you will get this error from an operating system glitch. Before you run out and buy a new hard drive, try reloading the operating system. If you have any problems during or after the install, then the hard drive is shot.
