There are two resons for this fault. The first one is with less heght or vertical lenearity adjustment. The second one is with due to weak electrolytic capacitors in vertical output section on the circuit board. In most cases, replacing all the electrolytic capacitors [four or five of them will be there]; will rectify this problem. The line you see on the upper part of the screen is techniclally called as vertcial retrace line. The main cuse of this will be due to weak capacitors on the circuit of that section itself. OK.

I would try the Funai codes since Curtis is located in Canada and is one of their imports from China.
