Question about Sony STR-DE598 Receiver

1 Answer

Reveiver has no sound no audio outpup, speakers are good

Why doesn't my stereo have any sound or audio?
this problem started after a year that I had my stereo, I checked the speakers and they work. I have a tape player and cd player built in with my receiver stereo and I have power every turns and stuff like they supposed to but, no sound.
Can you point me in the right direction and give me an idea on how to fix this?

Receiver could have an issue with cold solder joints in the voltage driver circuit but I would go over the basic stuff like are your speakers off or on speaker b. Is your tape monitor on? Larry'sElectronics ledstiles@hotmail.com

Speakers

What kind of speakers do you have and what is it you are plugging them to? If those speakers have an RCA AUDIO IN at its back, then use an RCA cable. If the sound source does have an RCA AUDIO OUT then connecting it to your speakers should have no problem. If it doesn't have AUDIO OUT, but has PHONES socket, use a stereo DIN plug with an RCA plug at the other end to connect it to your speakers.

I have a 1991 chevy 1500 and am hooking up stereo system. But there are some wirtes loose that I dont know their place. For instance, the yellow and black one

The yellow wire from the truck attaches to the red wire of the stereo. The black wire goes to the black wire. If the truck doesn't have a black wire, connect the black wire from the stereo to a bolt on the frame of the dash. The orange wire from the truck goes to the yellow wire of the stereo. Please let me know if you have more questions.

If you have a multimeter, try checking the speakers and speaker wires for shorts and/or grounds. Make sure your speaker wire has no bares spots. If the speakers and speaker wires all check out good, you may have a bad internal output ic.

No audio outpup device is installed (?)

It sounds like you have muted the volume. Left click on the speaker icon and see whether there is a tick in the mute box. If there is, left click on the tick and it will be removed. You should now have sound again.
