I have an Acer Aspire T180 and would like to upgrade the memory and add a wi-fi card. can you advise what cards I need to purchase?

Memory:
Looks like the Aspire T180 takes DDR2 533/667/800 memory. This is pretty easy to upgrade. Check to see how many memory slots your computer has (Probably 4, might only have 2). You should probably just replace what you have with new memory.
I recommend this memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122
It is 2x 2GB modules. 4GB of RAM is a good amount of RAM to have, you will see a noticeable performance increase.

WiFi:
I would recommend a USB wifi adaptor. It is easy to instal and most ones work well, even the cheap ones. Just stick it in the back of your computer and forget it it's even there.

I recommend this one, I have been using it for 2 years and have had no problems.

I have an aspire M5640 and I upgrade my video card so I had to upgrade PSU to 550W and my sistem frezzes on boot? What can be the problem? Thanks

Make sure you have securely connected both the four pin and 24 pin motherboard power connectors into the motherboard. If either one of these are even partially unplugged it can cause your system to freeze. Also, since you have been working inside the computer, try pushing the RAM in, just in case it came loose. If you are still encountering problems check all the rest of the power and data connections inside your computer including hard drives and the new video card.

I want to upgrade the graphics card on my acer aspire m3400 but can not locate the card on the motherboard

That's because the video is integrated into the motherboard. This PC supports HDMI... what exactly are you trying to 'upgrade'? If the on-board video is not performing as you want, from what you can see here, you may only need to upgrade RAM on your MB:

http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/2010/acer/Aspire/AspireM3400/AspireM3400sp2.shtml

#4 at the bottom of the page:
Shared system memory may be allocated to support integrated graphics, depending on system memory size and other factors. Actual system memory available to the operating system will be reduced by the amount of dedicated and shared system memory utilized by the graphics solution and resources required by the operating environment.

Can I upgrade to windows 7

Download and install the Windows7 Upgrade Advisor software using the following link. It will tell you what upgrades you may need.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor

NOTE: [These are my recommendations only] You should have a Video Card with at least 256 MB Ram to take advantage of AeroDesktop. You should have a minimum of 2 GB of System Memory.
I have a laptop with 1 GB System Ram and only 128 MB Video and Win7 works well.

If the movies playing are slow can i update the video card? The movies i am watching are too slow. Will a better video card help?

A new video card will definitely help. Upgrading your RAM will also help greatly. How much do you have in your system now? I can make some recommendations if you would like.

Thanks for using Fixya.

How to upgrade acer aspire m1100 ram

It is actually pretty simple, just remove either screws or fasteners holding the case on. On that model it may even just be the side panel, which would be 2 screws/fasteners. Here is a video that explains the process. http://videos.howstuffworks.com/howstuffworks/26-how-to-install-ram-to-a-desktop-computer-video.htm Thanks,

Upgraded RAM, added USB port card at rear panel ... now no worko

Try reseating the RAM. If the computer won't even post it's probably a RAM problem. I worked on a machine about a year ago that took almost two days to get the RAM to seat properly. It was doing the same thing worked when it wanted to. I finally used the end of my BIC lighter to beat it in. You can try to reinstall the old RAM to see if the RAM is the problem or try installing it one stick at a time.

Ram

No, usually, your PC if you have an integrated video card, will take away from your installed ram for 256mb of video dedication. Everything should be fine.
