I have a IBM wheelwrighter 2, and when I type I get a differant letter then I am hitting, Can you tell me what to do?

You are probably in the language mode, Try code "L".

Your lang light is probably turned on. Hold down the control button (left of the spacebar) and then hit the letter "L". This should turn off the feature.

The selection motor bearings just right of the print solenoid get dry a little WD40 on the front and rear bearings usually takes care or this.

Everytime we hit the shift key, it starts typing ZXCVM,.2(the 2 is tiny and in the corner like 2 to the power of...) and the other shift key does the same but different letters or #'s.


Tou didn't give a make or model, but if it is an IBM Wheelwriter it may be in language mode or something may have been spilled in the keyboard coce "L" or "X" will get you out of the lang mode depending on it's age.

Try puting some light oil (WD40 works well) on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on, also check for debris it that area.

You need the plastic on the print solenoid.

IBM Wheelwriter doesn't type until I hit return button.


On the R. side of the keyboard is a key that says print mode press this key and the dl print on the displaywill go out.
