Receive 'Error-Printing' when attempting to print photos or documents to HP Photosmart D7460. I've reinstalled the software and it will work that day, but the next day I get the same error messages.

kindly reinstall the printer driver.

as it is not printing u can try making copies . if it copies fine that means the issue is with software but if it is not copying properly that means the problem is with hardware. u can try with uninstalling the software and reinstalling it .

Reinstall the software from hp website and download the latest version. that will fix the issue. Before that what you can do is go to start-right clcik computer and go to propertoes and then go to hardware and then to DEVICE MANAGER.is you see any yellow triangles or exclamation marks . right clcik and update all the drivers. that will fix the issue.

It is just normal, printing photos required more detail/refine and for best result it should be print slower than normal printing.

When nothing worked, I reexamined the trays, and there is a small plastic hook about half an inch long under the left side of the D7460 output tray. The tray below had a small hole. So I clicked the two together, and the printer started printing. Probably like many of you I had elevated the output tray as the printer spews onto the floor. Apparently it needs this connection. So much time lost....

Just needed to be unplugged (both at wall and at printer) for two minutes. Restarted and it worked fine.

Using an administrator account, remove HP Smart Web Printing using Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.

Remove the HP Smartweb printing software.

1. In the Start menu select All Programs > HP Smart Web Printing > Uninstall HP Smart Web Printing.

2. Follow the onscreen prompts.

You can also open the 'Control Panel' from the 'Start menu' and open 'Add or Remove' Programs. Select 'HP Smart Web Printing' in the 'Add or Remove' Programs window, and then click 'Remove'.

If the changes you make in the Page Setup dialog of Internet Explorer are not reflected in the Page Setup dialog of the Print Clips window and vice versa ?

This is a known problem, and not unique to HP Smart Web Printing. When printing from the Internet Explorer File menu, select File > Page Setup and make your settings there. When printing from the Print Clips window, click the Page Setup button and make your settings there.

After removing the smart web printing software, please visit the weblink and download the HP Smart Web Printing 4.05 software from the webpage.

After performing the steps mentioned above, check the functionality.

Click on Start,
Go to Control Panel,
open Printer and Faxes
look for the Printer which is HP C5280 or any icon related to same,
Right click
Choose set as default
Close Everything
Shutdown your computer and Printer
Check and make sure that the USB cable is connected propely
Restart the Printer first and then the computer,try Printing some thing.

if this doesnt resolve you issue then i would suggest you to uninstall the printer software and reinstall and update it from HP.com.

This is a software error in your computer, you would need to uninstall the drivers and software and reinstall to repair it.
