Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
It is a passthrough router. you can not create a tunnel using this router. Now if you are using any VPN software to connect to the network then you can try to open the ports on the router.
Reduce the MTU to 1365.
open the ports - 500 , 443-447, 1723, 10000-2000
If your router is old then upgrade the firmware of the router.

Connect to the web-server "inside" the router, and click the 'Status' button, and then the 'log-files' button. Enable "all" logging-options, and then try again to use VPN. Then, "view" the log-file, to see if any error-messages (or "blocked" TCP/IP packets) have been recorded.
