Question about Philips GoGear SA5285/37 Digital Media Player

I used the device manager...it ran all night. My mp3 still get various I ROO = 00000000 I messages.

    It was a a Go Gear SA5285/37. The problem occurred the other day. I have contact numerous experts about the problem and had no luck. I used Phillips' Device Manager to try and repair it, the repair program has been running since 3:30 p.m. yesterday and has not repaired the problem. I do not know what else to do to fix this.



    When you turn the mp3 on, the Phillips word and website show up then the GoGear word shows up then the mp3 freezes at that point with the strange codes in the upper left corner of the mp3.

    Okay, from what you have told me it seems like there is a hardware fault in the player that is preventing it from starting up or working properly. I'm afraid the only solution you have is to send it off to philips for repair.

My mp3 philips go gear shows the message: connect to pc and use device manager to repair


if you still have the CD's the device manager is included with them. install it and use it. if you are using win xp sp3 or vista/win7 you will need to visit the site-->support page-->find your device and look for the device manager download. alternatively (worked for me on a 6gb) you can open my computer while the device is plugged in and recognized right click the philips mp3 icon and click format, this will erase all of your music and images but it should recover your mp3 player. if this does not work use the program from the site/your CD's

Run the Repair in the Philips Device Manager that came with the installation CD. If you do not have the Philips Device Manager, you can get it from Philips website, but make sure you only get the Device Manager for the SA5295/37 or you will damage your player. Run the Update tab in the Philips Device Manager - for a brand new player, they sure do have a lot of firmware updates for this puppy. Still, I'm excited to see that they have a 16GB player and have reincluded DRM support. I might actually buy one of these.

Go to www.philips.com and download the hhdd1630/17b software and firmware updates. Install them and print off the instructions on what to do. This fixed my player and what a difference it made.................WOW

Connect to PC and use device manager to repair


If you have the software conect the device to the computer; press volumen + with on/off switch at same time; then press volumen - anh hold it. The software recognice the device and you can update the firmware or repair it.
