Its likely sab as in Sabbath mode.

Here is your online use & care manual which explains all about the Sabbath mode on page 15:

You will have to do a reset for clearing the error code

Your range is probably in the Sabbath mode. The error code shown on the display is"Sab", not "5ab".

To disable the Sabbath mode push and hold the Clock pad for 3 seconds.

Here is a useful tip in identifying a frequently reported problem
on some model ranges and wall ovens equipped with an Electronic Range
Control (ERC) or Electronic Oven Control (EOC). An “error” code display of “Sabb" or “Sab” will be displayed and the range or oven will not function. This
is called “Sabbath Mode" and it may be costing you unnecessary charges
in service call fees. This is NOT a problem, but actually a feature
provided by some manufacturers to enable customers of certain religious
faiths to honor the Sabbath. The range will not function at all during
this period and cannot be reset by unplugging the unit or turning it
off. In your owner/operator's manual there should be a section that
refers to "Sabbath Mode" under the control panel features and
operation. This "problem" is a minor operator issue and is not a malfunction of the appliance. This
is commonly reported by customers to service companies to have
corrected, but the repair is unnecessary, and usually NOT covered under
the manufacturer’s warranty. The reason: It is a designed feature of the appliance and considered “operator error” in most cases. What
this means is you may be paying someone big money to push a couple of
buttons and “fix” something that could have taken you minutes to
correct yourself. Sabbath Mode can inadvertently be
activated by pressing the wrong sequence of control panel buttons, kids
playing with the control panel and also after a power outage. The
“problem” can be cleared, but you will have to find the proper
reference in your owner operator manual. Manufacturers provide different procedures for activating and deactivating the mode, so instructions may differ. I hope this helps avoid the need for a service calls in the future and saves you money.

SAb -often- is the Sabbeth mode.

Your use&care manual should have info on reseting the Sabbeth mode.

My GE XL44 Self-Cleaning Gas oven heats up but is about 125-130 degrees cooler than what it is set for.

To Adjust the Thermostat

  1. Touch the BROIL HI/LO and BAKE pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the display shows SF.
  2. Touch the BAKE pad. A two digit number shows in the display.
  3. Touch BAKE again to alternate between increasing and decreasing the oven temperature.
  4. The oven temperature can be adjusted up to (+) 35°F (19°C) hotter or (-) 35°F (19°C) cooler. Touch the number pads the same way you read them. For example, to change the oven temperature 15°F (8°C), touch 1 and 5.
  5. When you have made the adjustment, touch the START pad to go back to the time of day display. Use your oven as you would normally.

I need to learn how to use my oven, because i don't know how to turn it on.i need to bake,so can u tell me how?

You can get the manual for the RGB745 at the GE Appliances support site: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ . Enter the model number in the search box. There are several models that start with RGB745.

On most of the Hotpoint ovens for regular baking, press Bake and use the + or - buttons to set the desired oven temperature. Then press Start/On. Then the oven will display Pre as it re-heats. When the thermostat indicates the desired temperature is reached, the oven will beep. The racks should be on the middle positions for most baking. (For roasting use the lowest positions.) Put the food in when the oven is done preheating. When done, press Clear/Off. Timed baked requires the clock be set correctly, then set the start and end times.

For the older ovens with dials to control the oven, set the first dial to Bake and the second to the desired temperature. Wait at least 10 minutes for the oven to preheat. Again put the oven racks in the middle of the oven for most baking.

Do not lock the oven latch and keep the oven closed through the baking cycle as much as possible. (Rotating pans and basting steps should be done quickly so that the oven doesn't cool much.)

I hope this helps.

How to set the oven timer?

To Program Oven for a Delayed Start Time and to Shut-Off Automatically 1. Be sure that the clock shows the correct time of day. 2. Place the food in the oven. 3. Push "Bake Time". "00:00" and the words "BAKE TIME" will glow in the display window. 4. Push and hold up or down arrows until the desired baking time appears in the display. 5. After the bake time has been set, "----°" will appear in the display and the word "BAKE" will flash. The display will flash and beep once until the oven temperature has been set. 6. Push "Stop time". The time when baking will stop, will appear in the display window. The words "BAKE STOP TIME" will glow in the display. 7. Push and hold up or down arrows until the time that you want cooking to be completed appears in the display. 8. Push Bake (or Conv). "---°" will appear, and the word "BAKE" will glow in the display. 9. Push and hold up or down arrows until the desired baking temperature appears in the display. 10. If the baking temperature is not set, the control will beep. "---°" will flash and the word "BAKE" will appear in the display.

Won't bake, but all else works

Swap the broil and bake ignitors(they are both the same) see if the bake works. If the oven bake works then you need only replace the ignitor. If it does not then I would say you should check the valve for continuity. If open, bad gas valve. If continuity is detected, bad oven control.

Bake button doesn't work even after ignitor replaced

While unlikely, the ignitor in theory could have damaged the ERC (main oven control) it is more likely you have a bad keypad. Try pressing and holding bake and broil pads at the same time for 5 seconds and see if the display shows SF (will look like 5F). If it does, press the start button and try again bake again

Claibrating the temperature of a GE gas oven

First of all, do not use the oven thermometers from a grocery store. they can be off by 20 degrees or more. These directions may help you for electronically controlled ovens. The older manually controlled ovens have a small screw head in the center of the oven temperature knob that can be adjusted in usually 10 degree increments.

To Adjust the Thermostat
Touch the Bake and Broil Hi/Lo pads
at the same time for 3 seconds until the
display shows SF.
Touch the Bake pad. A two digit number
shows in the display.
Touch Bake once to decrease (-)
the oven temperature, or twice to
increase (+).
The oven temperature can be adjusted
up as much as 35°F. or down as much
as 35°F. Touch the number pads the
same way you read them. For example,
to change the oven temperature 15°F,
touch 1 and 5.
When you have made the adjustment,
touch the Start pad to go back to the
time of day display. Use your oven as
you would normally.
NOTE: The thermostat adjustment for Baking
will also affect Convection Baking or Convection Roasting.

Digital Control (for oven temp and clock adjustment) not working

Puzzeled, usually when there is a stuck or shorted keypad there will be an error code. First let's see if we can tell if we are in Centigrade or Ferenhiet. Press the bake and broil button together for 2 or 3 seconds. SF should appear in the display. Press the broil pad again and C or F will be displayed. Toggle to F and press start. See if that was the problem. If not try to increase the speed of the + and - keypads. Press bake and broil together for 2 seconds until SF displays. Press the + keypad increase the speed of the control. It should toggle from 1 to 5, 5 being the fastest. Press start and see if that works. If niether works..then have someone remove the keypad ribbon cable from the control board and clean the ends with an eraser. See if that solves the issue...Catriver..post back and let me know.
