Next time send the model number,if it's not starting unplug the dryer,on top of the blower wheel housing there will be a thermal fuse,if the filter is on top it's behind the back panel of the dryer,if the filter is inside it's in the front of the dryer,it will be near the duct that the lint filter slides into, you need to remove at least one of the wires before you read it out with a meter,it will be a 3392519 or a 3390719,these are the two most used thermal fuses.let me know what you find,if it is the fuse most likely you need to clean out the dryer.blow out the vent line i use a leaf blower if it's long, clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is

don't know how you made out,if you send the model number i'd be able to help you better,on some dryers there are relays in the console that could be bad also check with a meter that you have the correct voltage at the back of dryer where the cord connects to the dryer, from the white wire to the red you should have 110 and from the white to the black you should have 110 volts,if not you have a blown fuse in the house, let me know what you find and send model number if you need more help

also on the heater box there is a high limit thermostat if it's in the rear of dryer it's on the top of the box and if the heater is in the front of dryer the thermostat is in the rear of the heater box, send the model number

you'll need a meter to check these parts and remember to have the dryer unplugged and pull off at least one of the wires off the part you're checking

I have a kenmore dryer, bought used, and it was working good but it now wont turn on. The light inside comes on when the door is opened, but no matter what the setting, it wont start. It's the Kenmore 70 series, front loading electric dryer. Is there a fuse or reset button I can try?

Kenmore Dryer 70 series

Hi, the problem with the dryer not stopping is most likely the switch that controls when it starts. This switch is located behind the button you would push in to start the dryer, and if you can take off the rear panel and get to it, you can most likely adjust the internal contacts so that they don't continuously make contact. Or you could just replace the switch, which might be easier!
