Thanks, Maybe soap is not my problem. the residue appeared so suddenly and coincided with the cheap soap. But when I try to clean the dishes the film is very hard to get off. I have tried soaking them and washing with dish cloth but I have to use the abrasive side of the sponge or scratch it off with my finger nail. Any other thoughts?

HI. Usually, cheap detergent will leave behind a residue build up in the recirculating hoses and drain hoses, as well. Switching back to the more efficient brands will not remedy this issue, immediately. there are two ways to flush out the left over build up that the previous detergent left behind in your recirculation hoses and fine particle filter.. The first recommended option will be formidably dishwasher cleaning agent. There are many to choose from , but dishwasher magic works very well. I recommend using this every month, if you use your unit a lot.

Now, the next remedy will be to actually remove the hoses(recirculation/drain hoses) for purging. You will need to remove the unit from the cabinet, Once removed, the drain and recirculating hoses will be exposed. Kindly, remove them from there respective locations, and purge, generously. I would advise to apply this action to the sprayer arms and fine particle filter, as well. Once the purging has been completed, simply re-configure the unit, and re-install it into the cabinet area assigned. This will be the most affective remedy, n your case.

Ok, this is quite different here. This will be a mineral build up. Calcium build up will be the culprit here. You could use one parts vinegar and one parts water, preferably mixed in a cup. Run your unit with this solution twice, or you could use the dishwasher cleaner i recommend above. This will rid the unit of this mineral build up.

    • NOTE_ The vinegar/water bath may emit a very strong aroma. this will fade, but it may be unbearable at first. the dishwasher magic concentrated solution is more kind to the nose.
