Hi Joe - thanks for your response - it's strange because there is definitely power to the machine. Lights go on, it beeps, it locks. It does everything it usually does except start! How would we know if the heating fuse is burned out?

Hello Lz. If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with: Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)
Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

Model FEQ1442ES0. I press the start button and all I hear is a click, nothing happens. What's wrong?

I appreciate your inquiry, Cody!
I see that your Frigidaire dryer is not operating after you hit the start button and it clicks. It is possible that your control panel or wiring harness could be causing this issue with your dryer. You may need to perform a reset on your dryer and you can do that by disconnecting power from your dryer for at least ten minutes. If this does not correct your issue I would seek assistance from a professional technician for a proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Click sound at power button and start button should get it going. If not then Dryer drum is not turning.

The dryer will not operate. you can press the buttons , all the lights come on, but as soon as you press start you hear a clicking sound and then nothing happens. I seems the dryer is on but nothing is...

unplug dryer, remove back panel, look for a white part with 2 connectors on the blower housing and remove one, using a continuity or ohm meter put across the leads and if you hear no sound or see no reading in meter replace that part. is the thermal fuse. this is the most common problem for that failure.

Dryer doesn't start or blow air, how can I test parts to determine what needs replaced?

Hi there

Have a look around the motor for a yellow or silver tube like object with wires attached to one end .

if you see one of these "be very Carefull if you are not confident working around live electricity get a man in to do it"

start the dryer and then physically give the drum a push if it starts to spin what you require will be the start capacitor plenty of places online to buy spare from and easy to fit.

Check your door switch first. You should hear a click when you push it in and light should turn off.. If it clicks it is probably ok. If you need to know how to replace it or if it is ok, please reply back with model number so I can give you more detailed directions in troubleshooting.
