Hello and welcome to FixYa. This could be a problem with the memory card. Lets start by checking that the small lock switch on the side of the card is not on the lock position. IF the problem is still there after checking the switch, then I would suggest that you format the card in the camera, this will erase all content from the card. so if there is something important make sure to copy it to your computer first. you will find format from the SET UP menu of the camera, the one with the icon of tools at the top. make sure to set it to LOW LEVEL FORMAT

Image Stabilizer setting is not available!

With the camera in the Auto mode, the Image Stabilization is always on. If you want to turn it off or select another option (panning), you need to set the camera to a different mode. Mode P is close to Auto, but gives you the option to adjust a few parameters, such as IS Mode.

Using transcend 16gb with canon powershot sx20is. getting memory card error. Please help.

It might just want you to format the card in the camera. This will completely erase it so download any pictures from it first.

I have just purchased Canon Powershot A480

I think the "busy" part can be put down to the camera performing a function or recharging the flash. The red icon I THINK shows that the camera is focussing.

With the last model it worked so that you could half press the button to focus on something (eg a fast moving pet) and then once your pet stopped moving your could fully press the button to take a photo and the focus distance would remain the same.

Erase All button is grayed out on my Canon Powershot SD550

Okay. You can try resetting the unit to factory default. But I just want to warn you that this will delete all settings on your camera.

To RESET it to factory defaults, all you have to do is go to the Tools menu. This is the hammer and wrench tool I guess. And then hit Reset All.

Canon Powershot SD1000: LCD screen display

Hopefully you resolved this already. If not, push the "DISP." button left of the MENU button. Pushing it gives you three options: black (for discreet shooting so your LCD doesn't give garner dirty looks from fellow concert goers), liveview, and liveview with info overlayed (shooting mode, ISO, etc.). Good luck!

Borrowed camera. PowerShot SD500. How do I delete a picture?

You can download the PowerShot SD500 user guide/manual here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=323&modelid=11157

But the short and skinny is here:

To erase single images:

1) Use the <- or -> button to select an image for deletion and press the "little trash" icon.

2) Use the <- or -> button to select [Erase] and press the FUNC./SET button.
To exit instead of erasing, select [Cancel].

You'll find the erase information on pages 131 and 132 of the pdf.

Have fun!

Hi,

For the Powershot A560:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Turn on the camera in playback mode.
2. Select a picture using the right or left arrow buttons on the back of the camera.
3. Press the button with an icon of a trash can.
4. A menu comes up:

Erase? Erase Cancel

5. Select "Erase", then press "FUNC. SET."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Page 18 of the Powershot A560 basic manual also explains how to erase individual images.

Page 73 of the advanced manual explains how to erase all images.
