Headset plug shorting out

When I plug in my headset, it is acting as if the plug is loose and the sound comes and goes, I have to wiggle it to get it to clear, then can't move the phone. This was happening when I only had it several months. Is there any way to fix it? The phone is good otherwixe and I don't want to have to buy another one. This happened once before. Seems like alot of the new ones do not have headset jacks. I use it all the time. Thank you.

Yes it can be fixed, but you will need to send it in for repair, you can google Panasonic cordless telephone repair , and look at the first few non-sponsored links, the sponsored links are mainly sales and do not repair. You will need to send in your base (so your handset can be tested with it) unless you want to mess around with re-registration if that is possible with that model. Hope this solves your problem, its typically half the price to repair than replace. CG

It could be solder connections on the jack, its usually the headset itself, try another headset.

How do I get rid of the static sound in my 4PR908?

There causes varies from types of headset to another. In respect of a wireless headset, the static sound is caused by interference. Whereas in a cord headset, a loose wire somewhere in your headset or cord is responsible for the static sound or crackle. It might also emanate from the mic in respect of a one calling, or from the ear-piece.

The solution with a wireless headset is to move away from any device e.g computer which might have cause the static sound. Resetting the wireless headset is also a solution measure.

In the case of a cord headset; Get the cord wiggled at the plug and at the headset; and then move the mic to locate the loose connection. Where the problem occurs, loop the wire, taping it down at the point. soldering the affected wire is best than taping.

Finally, if the static sound persist;which it should not after all the treatments; check on the volume of the device. Reduction of the device volume can go a long way to bringing the longed solution. Similar problem occured with my headset;and was solved via the same recommended possibility.

Why am i getting no power in x42 turtle beach earphone?

I am assuming this is not a sound issue, and an entire headset not coming on issue. Here are the steps that I would take...
1. Put in BRAND NEW BATTERIES!!! (Usually that is the culprit) ;-)
2. Unplug and then re-plug in all wires and cords to the console and the controller.
3. Check to see if the wires are connected from headset to end cords (on the one that plugs into the controller).
4. Once everything is connected and with brand new batteries, it should work, turn it on again. Remember the beep sound goes up when the turtle beaches come on, and the beep sound goes down when the turtle beaches are turned off.

The headset jack is jammed.
Try blowing some compressed air in there and also insert a headset plug and wiggle it about to see if it knocks the stuck bit loose.

You are using stereo headset, but it is a mono output. So you need either mono headset or an adapter that will allow the mono sound to go to stereo output for a stereo headset.

If you plug in a headset do you hear sound then? There's a small toggle switch in the headset plug that sometimes gets stuck in the headset position. When this happens you won't hear sounds from the device speaker, but you will hear sound when you plug in a headset. If that's what is wrong, you might be able to throw the switch by wiggle a paper clip in the headset hole. It is a hardware fault and, even if you manage to throw the switch, it will probably happen again.

i had this happen to me recently and found out whats wrong the phones kinda slow and thinks the headphones are still plugged in and if you take out the battery and put it back in it saves that you had somthing plugged in and dosent help. For some people they can fix this as easily as plugging the headset back in and pulling it out slowly but for me this didnt work so what i did is, i turned on pocket tunes and you souldnt hear anything and make sure your sound is turned on, then take a small pin and stick it in the headphone jack and wiggle it around untill you hear somthing and then quickley pull out the pin.
Hope this helps

The sound comes and goes from right part of headset

The left/right problem could be a bad connection on the red/white XBOX cables. Check to see that they're plugged in properly and not loose. You can also try plugging an MP3 player into the red/white jacks to see if the problem is with the headset or the XBOX. If it works ok with your MP3 player, then the headset is working fine.

You can get a new headset controller cable on our web site. Click on Replacement Parts in the left menu for the headset model you own (X1, X3, or X4).

I have a CS60 Handset doesnt work when the headset is connected

First setup the headset as follows:

  • Locate the 2 ports on the bottom of the CS60 charging base. One has an icon of a "full telephone" and the other has an icon of a "hand receiver."
  • Unplug the hand receiver from the base of your existing telephone and plug it into the "hand receiver" port on the CS60 base unit.
  • Then take the short cable that came with the CS60 and plug it into the "full telephone" port on the base of the CS60.
  • Plug the other end of the short cord into the hand receiver port of your telephone (where the hand receiver just was).
  • Make sure the AC Power is plugged into the wall, and then you can adjust the configuration settings.
To be able to hear or speak through the handset, either place the headset back into its charging cradle or press the call control button on the side of the headset. The talk indicator light on the base should go off and no sound will come through the headset.

Note: Make sure that the cables are connected correctly and the handset cable is connected to the base of the CS60 base.
