You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
Is there any computer connected to the router ? If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
open the set up page of the router and make sure that SSID broadcast is enabled. if it is disabled then enable the SSID broadcst.
Try changing the wireless channel on the router.

Hi, My Hitachi Laptop has WIFI system, but it does not work.

If you switch on WiFi and a light does not come on, then your WiFI is not working. If the light comes on and you cant connect to the WLAN, then click on the WIFI icon in the system tray. There you will get an option to search WiFi hotspots. When you click on this all the WIFI hotspots in range will be listed. Select the one that is yours and after supplying the WEP key login.

Secured Wireless is better than a unsecured one. Configuring a secured wireless network easy.
· First Check it the Wireless is turned on in the modem.
You must see the wireless light glow on.
Wireless LAN (WLAN) should be Enabled before configuring the wireless network
· To make sure, if the WLAN is enabled you can check the WLAN light glow.
· If it is off, then you can be sure that WLAN is disabled.
