Question about Apple iPod 4th Generation MP3 Player

1 Answer

I just changed the battery on an IPOD 20g and there is a little battery power, not gully charged, but when it turns on, all I get is the apple, then the main menu, but I cannot do anything else. It will not scroll or do anything. I tried the menu/select reset but it did not work. Any suggestions? Does it have to be fully charged before it will operate?

Thanks a lot. I will let you know on Monday, the IPOD is a friend at works, and she did not bring it in today. Didn't want you to think I blew you off!

Hello,

yes, the battery needs to be fully charged. Allow the battery to charge fully, then try again.

Give me feedback on what happens when the battery is full, so that I can direct you further. Also, turn of the I-pod while you charge it.

Bye for now.

I have ipod 20g. it s not charging, and it show me the plug in the wall. what i have to do?

The battery is fully discharged and so indicates that this must be charged immediately. So check the charger unit or try using the USB to the PC to confirm . If so the charger is a suspect. Also if the charger is seen to deliver the voltage then it can also be a pin /connector fault or a board issue. The ipod battery cannot be ruled out in this case.

How do I re charge battery with electrical plug

To charge the battery using your computer:
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer using the included iPod shuffle Dock. The computer must be turned on and not in sleep mode (some models of Macintosh can charge iPod shuffle while in sleep mode). When the battery is charging, the status light on iPod shuffle is orange. When the battery is fully charged, the status light turns green.
If you don't see the status light, iPod shuffle might not be connected to a high-power USB port. Try another USB port on your computer.

To charge the battery using an iPod USB Power Adapter If you do not have then you have to buy the same from Apple Store) 1 Connect the AC plug adapter to the power adapter (they might already be connected). 2 Plug the USB connector of the iPod shuffle Dock into the power adapter. 3 Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. 4 Put iPod shuffle in the dock. You can disconnect and use iPod shuffle before it is fully charged.

My i pod screen went black you can still see a little but i cant get it to brighten

Try the following

Turn the ipod off and then on again.

If that does not work reset the ipod while it is connected to the power. You do this by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same tme for at least 10 seconds, until either the apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, charge the ipod until it is fully charged.

Hope this helps.

Why wont my ipod touch turn on i turned it off and it wont come o

Hold the power button and home button for 10 seconds to ensure the device is off. Let go.

Hold the home button down, plug in the ipod to the computer, after the screen changes to the itunes plug screen, let go of the home button.

The ipod will now be in recovery mode, and you can attempt to perform a restore within itunes.

If the restore fails, and the ipod screen stays black, this means the battery is dead and must be replaced.
