What if you do not know the IP address as that is what I am trying to figure out so I can map myself to the printer and deploy it out to the customers. What are the commands to fix it.

    Thank you.

Ok, you don't look for an Address IN the M201, that unit, has a WiFi adapter, inside, this can be, picked up by other WiFi or Routers, that know it's address. To access the M201, you first need to establish a connection, with the machine, either via, WiFi, or Ethernet, now, you type in it's address, say, 192.168.23.12, this will take you to a Configuration page, here you can change any settings and save them, the "Other" PC's can "see" the Printer, as a Network Device, with an Address/Name, and then they can "Connect" to it, as if it were a network, PC, The PC's will all have to have Driver software and setting set on each of the "Clients" All PC's must have a name be on same workgroup, have a Password, and "Sharing enabled" the printer is setup as a "Networked Printer" and "Shared" It also must have a name, (usually it's name is supplied by the software, but can be changed) User manual link below. It's all in there step by step.

You can check it in printer menu.
Press menu button of printer and enter in network configuration menu then you can see ip address, subnetmask and gateway.
The ip address is the address of your printer gateway must be your router ip.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Xerox M20i workcenter will not turn on

Try plugging the printer in to a different outlet and it if it is still not turning on at all you need to replace the power supply. Part# 140N62859 for 110V version or part# 140N62860 in the UK or other places that use 220V. iteminc.com has these in stock and can ship same day. Good luck, hope this helps

I get an SMTP error when i try to emali from my Xerox Workcentre M20i. What can i do to scan or e-mail without being directly connected to the printer via parallel port or USB?

That is not true i work as a IT Spec for the Kentucky Army National Guard and we have over 20 M20I series printers in which we have set up to scan to email. None of these printers are hooked up directly to the computer and they all have the ablity to scan to email. if you printer dose not seem to have the ability they you will probally just need to update the os. Here are the steps to get it set up.

  1. Connect the printer to the network
  2. Print a network config sheet
  3. use IE to connet to the web based interface useing the printers IP
  4. Click on the properties tab
  5. hit the little plus sign by connectivity
  6. do the same with protocols
  7. find and click on smtp server
  8. add ip address in the ip address and if your server requires athenticating type in the user name and password
  9. if for some reason the maxium message size has undefined then you will need to complete reset the printer or you will get an error it needs to have options that can be selected.
  10. now go to services
  11. then email settings
  12. select apropriate modes and the default from address
  13. if you want to set permissions to the device you can do so under user authintcation
  14. you can also set up the LAB and GAB
Note:
some web sites may not allow you to suer this function one alternitive is to set up a local smtp server on your network and create a mail box for yourself then you will just need to put your smtp server address in the instructions listed in step 8. I hope this helps.

You need to replace the fuser. There is a heating coil in the fuser roller that opens. Replace the fuser and it will resolve the problem.
