To connect a cable it goes under the scanner cover. When you open the top you see the scanner glass, you want to get under that to plug in a USB cable or an ethernet cable.

1320tn - network cable link light does not turn on. I have changed cables, turned off power, held down reset button and nothing works. Also, network config will not work when pressing in reset button. ...

Take a breath, relax. The link light means that you have established a connection with whatever is at the other end of the network cable. You omitted that info. If the printer is connected to a switch, try a different port. If the printer is connected to a router and you have a free port, connect it there. If the printer is connected to a PC, that port could be bad. If you have another printer, try plugging it into the PC. As long as you don't have the handshake between PC and printer you won't see any IP address. I'm not familiar with the 1320. Saying that, I believe that the network interface is on the formatter board. And yes that could be bad. Doesn't the 1320 have a USB port? Have you tried that.
Before you spend any money, try connecting the printer to a different PC or a laptop. If it works, your printer is not the problem. If it still fails, call for service, because the formatter will need replacing.

My E232 printer works when I push the continue button on the printer - but my computer no longer recognises it....saying software not installed properly even thought it is and has worked without fault for...

If the computer don't recognize the printer, it is possible that is a connection problem between the two equipments. Since you donwloaded the latest Win 7 driver, May I know what software you are referring to? Is the printer connected directly using usb or connected to a network?

Please double check the connection, try switching ports, double check if the printer is on device manager.

Cant load driver in port lpt1

AN IEEE 1284 port is a parallel port protocol. Lpt1 is a physical port on the PC that attaches to the printer.

Basically, the PC is telling you that it expects the printer to be connected to the LPT1 port on the printer and that it is expecting the printer to be conversant with the IEEE1284 protocols.

Given what you have described, you should not be having a problem connecting the PC to the printer.

Please let me know what the exact failure is and the make and model of the printer that is causing the communication between the PC and printer to go "Toes Up."

How do I connect my X6150 to my PC just to scan pictures into the computer

I believe that the AIO Lexmark printers connected to the PC via the USB port on the PC.

They also may have connected by a parallel port connection using the ECP connection protocol of the IEEE 1284 Standard.

Dell 2330dn - my printer won't print my work. It keep reading Parallel busy. What does this mean?

How is this printer connected to your computer? Is it connected by a parallel/centronics cable, or USB, or perhaps not connected physically at all, but via network (it's a network-capable printer)?

Also, you don't specify the operating system.

I would guess, that it was installed on the LPT (parallel) port, instead of a network port, and because in reality nothing is connected to the parallel port it is producing an error (explaining why it's called busy would be long and boring).

Anyway, please either check the setting of the port to which this printer is printing (find that in Printer Properties), or be more specific as to what your current situation is.

Connection to laptop

Most printers are connected to laptops via the USB ports. If the printer is supposed to be wireless, then you may have to connect the laptop via the USB port so you can activate the wireless port.

Printer prints test pages but will con print from

Has this printer ever worked? If so, what changed between its working and failing

What is your method of connection, parallel port, serial port, USB 1 or 2 ports?

Are you running stand-alone tests to it or are you printing the test page from the operating system? What operating system do you have installed and is the printer and its related software approved for this operating system?

Do you have the correct driver for this printer and operating system?

Can your PC see (identify) that it has a printer attached to it?
