Multisession recording I am trying to change the recording mode to multisession. I got instructions on how to do it, but they were vague and I'm a little slow sometimes. I can't follow it.

Multisession only means that after burning to a disk, if that disk has still some free memory on it, you can still burn unto that disk.

try to use nero for that. nero has a user friendly way of explaining how to do mutlisession disks.

refer to the help on nero.

On my dvd i.ve recorded (Windows XP SP2) many data with nero 6 in multisession mode. Few months later I cannot open that dvd to view it's contents. Is there any chance to open that dvd?

First make sure the back of the dvd is clean and not scratched. Try it in another computer/laptop.Try opening it again but in nero. If it opens in nero but not in other applications then it did not finalize correctly and I doubt it will be of any good. do you get and error? If you do then google it to see what it refers to.
Srri but canot be of further help on this one.

Put both your vhs and blank dvd into the player.
Go into VHS mode and press "Home" menu button.
Scroll across to "Easy Menu" and select "Dubbing".
Make sure you are at the place on your VHS where you want to record from and select the "Dubbing" button.
Press the Stop button to finish transfering.
When it has done recording file information, press eject once and select to finalize the disc.
And that's it!

DVD multisession writting

the -R classification means write to it one time
the -RW classification is write many times to the same disk.

Regardless of if you have the multi-session enabled or not, DVD-R can be written to only 1 time.
