Hi there,

If your Nokia N73 is requesting for a PUK (Personalised Unlocking Key) that means that you were unsuccessful with 3 attempts in entering your PIN to access your phone.

If its the PUK code you want, then simply ring your service provider and just tell them that you need your PUK code for your SIM and they should give it to you for free.

When you do get your PUK code from them, its a good idea to write it down somewhere but not on your mobile phone because that would cause problems in the event that your phone is lost or stolen.

Hi there,
For your PUK Code contact your Network Service Provider like : T-mobile, Vodafone etc. you just need to verify your self and they will provide you with your PUK Code.
One more suggestion don't try entering any number because if you enter a wrong PUK code for more then 10 times it permanently disables your phone.

PUK code is called as PERSONNAL UNBLOCKING KEY.
Your phone will ask for PUK code when you entered the PIN code wrongly several times depending upon the mobile make. The mobile asks for PUK code so that unauthorized persons do not use your mobile for wrong cause.
To get PUK code please contact your service provider through phone or go directly to their office. They will provide you the PUK code for your mobile. The PUK code is unique for each mobile phone model.so that you can open your phone. When you planning to call your service provider you cannot use your mobile as it is fully locked. Please use some other mobile with same network to call your service provider.
While you get the PUK code ,the service provider customer care officer will ask for your personal details to check whether the mobile belongs to you only. If they are satisfied with your answers they will provide with the PUK code
DONOT enter the PUK code several times wrongly,It will block your sim card permanently.
This PUK code is FREE. You no need to pay any sum to get the PUK code

The puk is very easy to get. just look at the back of the starter given to you when you bought you simcard. The starter pack is the pack the your simcard was put into.

Enter the puk on the phone and the phone will unlock.

And if you can't get the starter pack, call your service provider and they will give you the puk instantly. Enter the puk on your phone and the phone will unlock.

PIN code is not cell dependent, its operator dependent..

PUK code in PIN UNLOCKING CODE, which is required when you give PIN number wrongly for 3 times,
This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUK if PIN is blocked...

if you provide PUK code wrongly for 10 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM

NOTE: You should ask your service provider,get the PUK,

DEFAULT PUK CODE AND PIN CODE FOR N73 ME
No the Default PUK and PIN codes are not set by you, these codes are Service Provider Dependent (SIM)
All you have to so is to call your Service Providers Customer Support (Like of T-Mobile, AT&T...).
And ask them about the PUK and PIN code, they will first Authenticate few things about the Ownership of the SIM card, and will give you the codes, in return.

The only way you can do is by seeing your operator! they sure will know what to do.
but: I have sent your problem to Nokia Care, but so far without any success.
