Capacitor problems!! Samsung silver nano ( health)- Capacity-18000BTU/hr - Model-AST18WJWDB - Voltage-AC-200-220v/50Hz--Power input-1850W Since the last two years, I had a problems with my air conditioner constantly after 2-3 months. The repair experts suggest to put a new capacitor everytime I let them investigate it. So, I already bought 4 times!! and they will charge me Rs 2000- Rs 3500 /- for labour charge and new capacitor. I don't trust them anymore. I want to buy a new capacitor of good quality for my outdoor unit and replace it by myself too. My questions are : - 1) quality of a capacitor for a model like my AC ( Above -detail)? 2) Price? 3) Capacitor which will last longer? 4) How to replace the capacitor?

It's not the cap's fault that i see as the real problem, the cap is used to start the compressor and is rated for so many starts per hour and if you go over this rating it will stress the cap and after some time it will fail and this problem is known as short cycling and is normally caused by your thermostat.Or the unit is starting up under large gas pressure loads due to air in the system and or moisture and can only be fixed by a new gas charge

Samsung tv model LN52a550p3fxza turns on and off repeatedly. Before this happening it would turn on but screen was pinkish. What part do i need to replace so it will turn on?

Before replacing the power board, check the small high voltage transformer and the high voltage circuit. From the 120 volts AC, trace the fuse, then the capacitor on the other side of the transformer for at least 390 volts DC. The input (control) board has a chip that checks all the circuits including this voltage. The capacitor is 100 uf rated at 450 volts. If the high voltage is not at least 390 volts, then replace this capacitor with a larger one 350 uf rated at lest 400 volts. And see what happens. Good luck.

I have a Samsung 55inch TV model PN50A510P3F. The TV has power but when I turn it on, it take at least 30 minutes to come on. It keeps powering itself on and off until it gets a clear picture.

Samsung uses three boards on its TVs. From the back, the video card is bottom center (should not be the problem), to the left is the input board (where HDMI s, USB and a one button inferred controller for manual setup) and the power board. The boards are connected by flat cables. Check high voltage circuit, after the 120 volts AC, then the fuse, then the small high voltage transformer and on the other side of this transformer is a capacitor - 100 uf rated at 450 volts. The high voltage here should be at least 390 volts DC. Any voltage less than this, the capacitor needs to be replaced. I used two capacitors 150 uf 400 volts and 220 uf at 400 volts in parallel totaling 370 uf, and my TV came back to life.Good luck.

I have much Samsung TV that turns on but turns off after cycling picture has lines up and down and a loud high pitch noise comes out

The TV has a chip that check to see if the circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input and video boards. The problem is when it check the high voltage circuit and it does not have 390 volts, the chip turn-off the power instead. You can buy a new power board or fix it yourself. The power board is where the 120 volts AC is plugged in, and near the 120 volts is small transformer, then you will see a capacitor rated 100 uf at 450 volts. Check for 390 volts here. If the voltage is less, then replace this capacitor with a 350 uf at 400 or at 450 volts.Samsung used a "small" capacitor when it should have ordered at large capacitor. Good luck.

60pa6500 LG Plasma NO sound or picture. Standby RED LED lit, when I hit power I hear a click and RED goes off. Checked caps on all boards visually and none are swollen.

Check capacitor with a digital volt meter. In my Samsung, the TV has a chip that check to see if all circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input and video boards. The problem is when it check the high voltage circuit and it does not have 390 volts, the chip turn-off the power instead. (It is a safety thing.) You can buy a new power board or fix it yourself. The power board is where the 120 volts AC is plugged in, and near the 120 volts is small transformer, then you will see a capacitor rated 100 uf at 450 volts. Check for 390 volts here. What does the message say? The TV has a chip that check to see if all circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input (control) and video boards on the bottom. . What is the power input voltage required to operate the phonic 1805x audio mixer? is this an AC, or DC input? unit missing power supply and needs to be bench tested for possible future use. no manual...

i have seen the manual. most mixers use ac mains supply with smps inside with +48V for phantom and ur mixer is one of those. u will see a three pin mains connector at the back. but phonic made these mixers for different countries. for us/canada 110~120Vac/60Hz - for uk/australia  230~240Vac/50Hz, europe/ asia 220~230Vac/50Hz.
Look for these or a voltage selector near the power input terminal. if u do not find any of these one sure way of finding which mains supply u should use is to open the case and look at the biggest rectifier filter capacitor on the smps board. 110~120V supply will have capacitors working voltage around 250Vdc and for the others around 400Vdc working voltage. (eg 1000uF, 250V or 1000uF, 400V)
so depending on the DC working voltage of the filter capacitor and country u either step up or step down the mains supply.
18Vac supply will never work.!
the rated mains voltage sometimes are printed on the smps board itself. Hope this helps.
