Your ac adapter might be bad, I had to repair my own back in the day, a connector somehow got loose from the board..

Try with a difrent adapter.

Do you have a different power brick to use? Sounds like the brick output no longer supplies the required voltage/amperage.

What is the DCV power output and Amperage of the brick?
and what is the Part number of the brick

The brick is the external power supply. If the AC/DC power adapter that connects to your laptop no longer supplies the required voltage/amperage then it will not power up the laptop or charge the battery.

The power adapter, if not internal, is referred to as a "brick"

On the ac/dc power adapter there is usually a part number or model number, my acer adapter has a model # of ADP-60XB with a output voltage of 19V 3.16A making this a 60 Watt power supply.

What is wrong when AC Adapter is beeping continuously, and does not recharge laptop battery?

The adapter's Syscon detects a short circuit. It might be within the adapter itself; or with your system. Contact the authorized service centre in this case. If you have an other adapter, load it with. By this way, you can get an idea about the faulty unit. Electro help

My Thinkpad A30 replacement battery is not charging and is not even being read by my battery miser program. Does anyone know why?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa!

Im very sorry to hear that, it may also be the AC adapter that you are using. Worst is the DC port, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.

2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.

3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.

4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

1.Try to check if the port (dc input jack) for the ac adapter is loose, because that could be the problem.
2. Also try to use a good known ac adapter if it will do the same thing. If it does the problem is the dc input jack. If not, the problem is the ac adapter and you need to have a replacement or have it checked.

My toshiba satellite pro doesn't work , even with charger in , it doesn't turn on , its like all the power is gone :o ?

You may have a bad DC connection:

Symptoms of a broken power jack
1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker.
2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.
3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.
4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead.
No power LED or battery charge LED activity.
5. Laptop randomly powers off without any warning

If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by resoldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it

My dell insprion laptop 1525 will not turn on at all. even with the ac adapter, i know it is charged. turned on for like a min, then the screen went white and it turned off.

Try the following:
1. Remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter
2. Try to check if its working

Alternative:
If its still does not work:
1. Try to check if the LED indicator of your AC Adapter is lit
If its lit - the AC adapater is just fine
If its not - the AC adapater needs to be replaced

If all fails - you need to change the motherboard of your laptop - you might have a blown fuse or a power supply error

Thanks. Cheers!

remove all external peripherals. remove laptop battery. remove ac adapter.
plug ac adapter to wall power socket without the laptop connected check if the ac adapter led will stays on. if yes then connect it to the laptop and check if the ac adapter led turns off. if yes motherboard laptop has problems and need to be replaced.

if ac adapter has light stays on then connected to laptop but laptop cannot even power up even the ac adapter led is on then laptop motherboard needs to be replace.

There could e a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

Try also to reseat the main components of the notebook: the battery, the AC adapter, the memory modules, & the hard drive.
After that try switching it on & see if the problem was fixed.

Today my cord for my toshiba was behind my pillow and i was lying on it. and I didnt notice, but then it showed that my laptop wasnt charging did my cord just get too hot? will it work later?

The power adapter does not have a temperature sensitive device, therefore it won't stop for overheating if not in consequence of a fault.

Try leaving the power adapter unplugged for about ten minutes.
In the meanwhile also remove laptop battery and put it back.
Connect it back to AC and laptop.
Ensure that connection to laptop and power cord connection to AC adapter box are both well plugged.
Before turning on laptop leave it connected for few minutes.
If laptop still does not turn on and battery does not charge, then the AC adapter is faulty.
A further test can be done using a multimeter to read voltage on AC adapter plug.

A replacement AC adapter is not expensive and can be purchased online. Try entering in Google your Toshiba model followed by the words "power adapter".
