My Singer Izek sewing machine starts and stops and wont sew continuously. When I push down the pedal it sews about 2 inches then stops and light starts flashing, I have to let off of the pedal and push it again, over and over. It did this once before for awhile and then just started sewing right for awhile and now its started it again. I've checked everything.

I've checked and changed the bobbin thread as well as the top thread and checked the tension many times. I have also oiled the machine. So I would appreciate another experts opinion. Thank you.

That makes sense but its not the foot pedal because even when I unplug the pedal and start the machine with the button on the machine it still does it. I have inspected the electrical cords for any visable signs of a problem-nothing wrong that I could see. Also tried plugging it into a different electrical outlet-same thing. I guess the power cord itself could go bad without it being noticable on the outside, in which case I will try to find another power cord like that one and try it. If you have anymore suggestions please let me know. Thank you for your help.

If it's not the thread and not the pedal then it's definitely a power problem. You need to replace the power cable and then check again the functionality.

What did you check and how did you check it?

Foot pedals will wear out in time.......the switch will begin to fail similiar to a switch failing in a light switch. It is possible that the foot pedal is failing. When a switch begins failing, it can make contact long enough for a motor to attempt to start. Once the motor gets started, the switch can start heating up and then the contact is not as good as it was before, then the motor stops.

If you have not already done so, I would recommend replacing the foot pedal first. You can also visually inspect all wiring and connections for integrity and tightness. And there is always the obvious.....try a different electrical socket in the event the problem is a failing wall socket.

I'll look forward to hearing back from you. :-)

Yes, a replacement power cord is the best place to start as it is the most likely part to wear or become damaged. Inspection of all electrical connections inside your machine is also advised.

I'll watch for your response and welcome any further questions, comments, concerns. :-)

Hello, all you need to do is that you need to rethread your bobbin thread,it's either the thread are jamming that is the reason why the maching sews and stops.and also oil the machine with the one adviced by the manufacturer on their manual.
In addition you need to tighten your upper tension because if this is not well tightened it will allow the loose of the thread which could also cause your machine from stopping.
take care.
