Hi
no disk error comes in computer because of following reason

1st either the lenses of the cd rome might gone corrupted
2nd the entry in the registry of the computer to read the cd rome might have got change

90% propability is for the 2nd reason

you need to go into the registry by typing regedit in run box of the computer and then registry editor would come up look for h_k_local machine and then in that look for cd rome change the entry that is their and then the problem would be fixed if this doesnot help please get back to me on fixya and i would love to solve your issue

Computer log in has a check disk warning

Sounds like someone has run chkdsk on your computer. If it is running fine just restart the computer and it will go away. If it is telling you to run check disc then here is how in XP. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/kbtip.mspx Here is how in Vista. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

While instaling windowsxp i had a problem and gives a error code

Hello,

One of the files on the XP installation CD must be damaged or corrupted.
Try to restart the installation process again.
If it produces the same message, you might have to use another installation CD.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.

Help on reformating pc!!!

Use different CD installer or burn your present WindowsXP to another disc. Your files might have been corrupted due to poor disk surface of your Windows Installer.

WindowsXP professional, start up

Hi,

This needs some understanding of OS only. Don't worry.

Now, coming to ur first problem... u can change the bootup xp options by modifying the c:\boot.ini (be careful too...and u r right, it will not slow down ur pc)

reg. the bootup disk problem, ... u may need to create a bootable CD for installation... u may get the 'bootstrap' CD image from internet (but, r u having a licensed version???)

:)

Have a nice day

I hope, my suggestion was helpful

it is saying you need service pack 2 for windows xp, i would think,....it is a number of updates to winxp opereting system for it to perform better .
(he says smiling), if you have the original windows xp disc with service pack two on it ,put it in the cd/dvd drive and press enter when it asks for it.

good luck

XP PROBLEMS

At the windows login screen there should be a link or button you can click on and enter your key. Sounds like the person that fixed it didn't validate it. Did you install new hardware? If so, you'll probably have to call microsoft to validate.
