Above is a service manual for your chassis.
It could be, first though, check it isn't on MUTE, check, volume is set right, IF all is well, then you may indeed have an Audio output problem, you will need to then get this looked at by a professional. A simple, audio repair, say the audio output IC, needs replacement etc, would cost around, $180.00. What you need to do is take the unit in for repair and ask for a 'Quote" for repair, before proceeding.

Check the mute control from your remote. If ON/OFF is working ok, it may be sound circuit problem or speaker

Xbox elite connected to TV thru HDMI works fine, but connected via bcs-fs500 receiver = no audio or video Cable tv through receiver works fine Have tried cable tv through receiver inputs HDMI 1 and 2...

Hook your Xbox to tv via HDMI, then hook TV to reciever through digital optical or composite cables. If you try to get your picture through receiver first, you may get picture and sound but, sound may be delayed and picture might not be the best. Bettter to run through tv first then provide sound to receiver.

Sharp 26'' LCD HD screen went white, sound is fine

Go ahead and try unplugging the video (yellow) cable and plugging it back in.
If that doesnt work, do you have any spare video cables try those.
Then unplug your tv for 2 mins and hope for the best.
GOOD LUCK.

No sound

check if the A/V chords are firmly in place. (The yellow, white and red plugs). If it is firmly in place, and the sound still does not come out, the problem is that there is a loose chord. Try slightly bending the chord while testing if there's sound. This way, you'll know if it really is the chords that have a problem... hope this helps!

Video problems

I would check to see if the AV cord you have is set to HDTV or reg TV if you dont have a HDTV then your setting needs to be on TV.

Trying to use the HDTV will give you this issue where you here sound but no video.

The setting is on the neck where you plug it into the xbox360.
