By the way once you have reformatted you laptop all motherboard part will not function, such as audio video and some other parts. So you need to install their driver. Get your motherboard driver and install.

Reformating hhd

Well, most likely C: is you Operating System partition and D: is your recovery partition. You can delete both and reformat installinga different version of WINDOWS.....BUT - Be certain that you have gone to the SONY website and determined that drivers exist for your machine for the version of WINDOWS you want too install. Otherwise, you may not ever get your audio or LAN back. WINDOWS will usually have a generic video driver, but proper video, sound, chipset, and ethernet drivers are OS specific and must be provided from the PC Vendor. Many peple come onto this site wanting drivers for WIN 7 after upgrading only to find that their PC manufacturer hasn't provided drivers for their machine (and may never do so).

My loptop is from japan..then reformat here in philippines..after reformating the sounds doesnt working

You will need to manually re-install the sound drivers for your laptop... most of the time the right sound drivers are called 'AC'97 Sound Drivers'. All you need to do is download or aquire a copy and install into your laptop then restart the laptop. If, if that does not solve your problem you will have to do some deeper reseach into your laptop to find out what the Sound card is and what specific software it takes to get sound back on your laptop.

Laptop sound card not working properly

You can try the Manufacturer's support site to download the audio driver you need to get your sound going. A Microsoft update choosing the custom install might show the driver under the additional hardware downloads.

I would have tried to point you directly to the driver, but you did not post the Make or Model of the Laptop?

Toshiba tecra m1 sound driver

Check to see if the sound drive installed properly from the device manager. Try uninstalling the driver and doing a hardware search. Then check the sound settings to make sure nothing is muted or turned down. Some driver need manual adjusting.
