Question about HP Pavilion ze4125 Notebook

1 Answer

I just started getting two soft beeps on my HP Pavilion dv4. What does this mean? Started about six hours ago. Have had computer, brand new, since January. I turned it off. On turn-on, system went to chkdsk and all was well. Beeps continued. Contacted HP and India told me to update/flash bios and maybe return computer for repair. Machine is always on. Usually sitting on my lap. That's where I first heard beeps. Two quiet beeps every couple of minutes for about two hours. Then they went away. Thank you for your help

Send it back. sounds like memory or fan quit. beeps are failure codes and if you got in january then i would send back to be repaired. take your hard drive out if there is anything important on it because they will format if you dont pay for them to save data

How is the hp pavilion dv4 battery life

was concerned about the hp pavilion dv4 Battery Life as well, and I still am. I haven’t done too much testing yet, but from my initial usage I am seeing around 2 hours with general usage (browsing the Internet, using messengers, doing a video chat for maybe 30 mins) There are settings to change between conserving power and system performance so you can adapt it to what you like. I imagine with Power saving mode on and light usage it will get over 2 hours (but not near 3 hours) with High Performance mode and heavy usage (photoshop, gaming especially) you would probably get an hour maybe 1 1/2 hrs.
besides those laptop battery issues this is a wonderful computer and I’m very impressed. It runs very fast and speeds through everything I’ve thrown at it (Including large photoshop files that take my desktop over 30 seconds to even load)

I had a pavilion dv4-1430us for over a year, recently I started up the fan was very noisy like a bearing noise. what should I do? thanks for the advice

If you have no experience with opening an repairing computers or laptops I recommend you take the computer to an HP Laptop Service center. If you understand the issues involved you can order a cooling fan from HP and install it yourself as long as you keep track of the screws in the outer case and where they go as well as any cabling.

POST Beeps.

HP Beep codes are listed here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07107&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=329076&dlc=en&lang=en None of them matches your description, so listen again and see if the pattern matches any described by HP. Have you tried the monitor on another computer? Did you connect to the onboard graphics connector? Look for any loose components, especially memory.
