This is pxl8tr and I solved the problem by cycling the timer through, and the geared timer linkage automatically aligned with the soap dish!

Soap residue on dishes after running dish washing cycle

Too much soap for the load or quality of the soap. Also check the inlet water flow system. Clean the filter attached to the machine body at the end of the inlet tube.

Our dishwasher is linking suds after the cycle begins BUT ONLY 1 of 10 loads does this happen. What could cause this problem? Thank you.

Use dry powder soap and just enough to clean the dishes. Usually around 2 tablespoons is enough in a modern dishwasher and soft water after giving the dishes a good scrape. If you prerinse, use much less soap!

Soap hardens in the dispenser and dishes don't come clean

Either your dishwasher is not getting the water hot enough to dissolve the powder, or you need to switch brands. Try a liquid/gel type of dishwasher detergent.
Try stopping the washer a few minutes after you start a wash cycle. Open the door -- if there is a lot of steam coming out at you, it's not the water temperature. If there is no steam, your dishwasher is not getting hot water and/or the heating coil is not working.

GE Nautilus Soap does not dissolve

What is happening, is that your dishes are washing dry. Start the dishwasher and slowly turn the timer till it starts to fill. Let it go and see how they are after

Water leaking from the door

Could be a number of things. If you are in an area with hard water you could be using too much soap or the wrong soap. The dishwasher could be out of level, or the door seal could need replacing. Dishwashers also need to be cleaned. Soap residue builds over time. Try running the d/w with no dishes or soap, pour 5-6 cups of white vinegar directly into the tub and run a whole cycle. And again watch the soap usage.
