On the top row of keys, where the Function keys are, you should see a second set of BLUE icons on the keys. The F12 key will turn on the wireless. You must PRESS AND HOLD the Fn key (next to the Windows keys at the bottom) while pressing F12.

Install Virtual Router first "Turn any Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Computer into a Wifi Hot Spot."
EditByBSEditor: Virtual Router turns any Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Computer into a Wifi Hot SPOT using Windows 7's Wireless Hosted Network (Virtual Wifi) technology.
The Wireless Network Create/shared with Virtual Router uses WPA2 Encryption, and there is not way to turn off that encryption. This is actually a feature of the Wireless Hosted Network API's built into Windows 7 and 2008 R2 to ensure the best security possible.
You can give your "virtual" wireless network any name you want, and also set the password to anything. Just make sure the password is at least 8 characters. Then install Connectify-Me Connectify is an easy to use software router for Windows 7 computers. After downloading and installing the lightweight application, Connectify utilizes your computers' built in Wi-Fi card to wirelessly share any available Internet connection: a cable modem, a cellular card, or even another Wi-Fi network. Other Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, smart phones, music players, and gaming systems can see and join your Connectify hotspot just like any other Wi-Fi access point and are kept safe and secure by password-protected WPA2 Encryption. Then reboot computer

New download of windows 7 won't retain or create internet connectins

Ok, this is conflicting... won't retain or create!! Doesn't it have to be created to retain it?

Did it connect before you downloaded windows 7? Exactly what happens when you try to get on the internet? Do you have the wireless switch on the laptop turned on? Do you see your wireless router? If so did you put the password in correctly? If not, it will never connect.

Enable wireless for aspire kav60

Which Operating System?

The wireless button is for turning the wireless on or off, it sounds like you have the wireless adapter disabled.

Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and look for Network or Network and Sharing.

If windows XP: when you open the Network just right click on the wireless connection and select Enable.

If windows Vista or Windows 7 when you open Network and Sharing look over on the left and select Manage Network Connections. Right click on the wireless connection and select Enable.

I have a toshiba satellite PSL30A-00100E,, which has wireless LAN .. but when i try to connect through one of its programs it says please turn on the wireless lan, it does not have a switch or button to...

You can check firstly that if the wireless network card is installed properly, if so then check if its enabled in My Network Places ( Winxp) or Network and sharing center> Change adapter settings in windows 7 if you cannot find the hardware there, (Local Area Connection in xp) and (Wireless Network Connection in Windows 7) then restart the laptop go to BIOS and check for the Internal Devices and make it enable, it should work then or prompt you for the new hardware found
