Rubbish, hust a careless blanket answer, it was only the Acer user manual that comes with the PC, so does not address anything to do with the MB Layout

Upgrade the cpu for a sony vaio vgc-ra834g pc

I have upgraded cpu in the past, its a solution that is limited as you prob cant upgrade it again, newer motherboards support newer cpu, Maybe look for a cpu mobo combo to buy them both, Depends how much you can afford.dont forget if its an older mobo, it prob takes the slower memory, todays is faster. will your old mobo support newer graphics cards if you play games ??

I disconnected all cables inside acer aspire m1100-am1100-b1300a i need manual or diagram to reconnect not familiar with newer type cables

There is a problem, the first thing U should do before disambled anything...take a photo first in its original conditions, event an expert still backup with photo to avoid anything wrong in future..so here i think we need a photo of your motherboard to help you..ACER really smart, they dont want us to D.I.Y its product..and they want us to send the malfuncions product ti their services centre..there is no manual / diagram of that mobo..and they also smart to hide the part number of their mobo...so what u can do now is upload a photo of your mobo to some photo hosting website..and wait somebody to look for it..thats what i can say..TQVM

Can I install a GTX 9800 on an Acer Aspire m1641?

The model number of the mainbaord is usually printed on the mainboard itself. Look between the RAM dimms near the CPU socket.

If that mainboard is PCI-Express then it will be fine. It's PCI-Express if your card fit into the slot and locks into position. If the slot is too small for your card then you know that the board is some-thing else.

Just make sure the Power supply has at least a 6Pin Power connector for that graphics card.

The 6Pin connector plugs into the actual graphics card at the top. Be sure that the power supply is rated at 450Watt +.

Install the lastest drivers from the Nvidia website.

Take care!

Need new motherboard for Aspire T160. Where can I obtain one and how much do they cost?

Hello Martyn - Acer does not sell replacement motherboards. You would have to send your PC to Acer (no longer under warranty) for them to replace the motherboard, charging you for the hardware and the labor which, frankly, would be more than the worth of the whole computer with everything in it.

Fortunately your computer can use any Micro-ATX (a standard "size") motherboard. My suggestion would be that you take your machine to a local PC shop (if such is relatively local) and tell them you would like a new motherboard in you PC and want to keep your old CPU, hard drive, CD/DVD, memory, and any other parts that can be reused which should be everything (except if the dead motherboard damaged other parts like the CPU or memory.) If you wanted to it wouldn't be that more expensive to replace it with a newer faster motherboard but then you would have to replace the CPU and memory also.

I'd estimate (in the US) that it would cost about $150-$200 to replace the original motherboard...it never hurts to shop around.

Good Luck and Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Can I upgrade my processor? If so what do you suggest? I am currently running 3.5 gb of ram on windows 7 home edition.

Unless you are doing significant CPU demanding programs, that probably is not why your system is slow. A new video card, faster disk or SDD, etc. will give you more performance.
Prebuilt PC's use Mobo's that are made specifically for the retailer and can be very difficult to identify therefore, finding a new processor is very tough.

Acer Veriton M464 E4700 2.6Mhz cpu upgrade on MCP730 Mobo

Go to www.newegg.com and whatever you want to upgrade click on that item and match it up with your current board (by looking at the specifications and matching them). I suggest to buy a new mobo and all new processors and ram. You can use your old case, hard drive and all that good stuff that is removable.

Aspire M5100: changing the processor

I had the same problem, the most likely factor is that your motherboard doesn't support that CPU's either FSB or L2 or whatever. Just find a CPU with the same FSB as your old one and that one will work.
