Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

I have a single draw Fisher and Paykel dishwasher. I stupidly put washing up liquid in the dishwasher which resulted in a F1 problem. Water started leaking under the draw and onto my floor. I turned the dishwasher off at the power point and have cleaned up the leak. Have I damaged my dish washer? How do I fix it?

Ok , F1 means your flood switch has activated, which is underneath the drawer. now they show the F1 fault because of 2 reasons.1st there is still water underneath drawer causing switch to activate. 2nd your activator board which has the flood switch attached is faulty reading your posting it has been about 15 days since the fault happened. the water should have dryed around switch by now. if there is power to the unit and it is still coming up with F1 fault then possibly you have damaged the activator board. please reply and tell me if you have power on or off at the present time. to fix the problem it is alittle bit involved but i can guide you thru it when you reply .good luck

An F1 code is appearing on my fisher and pakel dishwasher because I put in washing up liquid in it instead of dishwasher powder

F1 means that the flood switch has activated, You need to check for water in the base of the dishwasher, You can pull the dishwasher out and tilt it backward and you will see water coming out the back lower corner if there is water in there, If you remove most of it this way the heat from the operation of the dishwasher will dry out the rest but the best option it to get in there and dry it out, Just be sure to unplug it first.

One other additional cause depending on exact model of dishwasher is it may have soap suds in the pressure tube and the electronics have not registered a change in water level because of this, To fix this issue you need to remove the tube from the pressure sensor and blow down it back into the sump of the dishwasher.

How to reset the flood switch on a fisher & paykel

Hi - unfortunately my good friend it cannot be reset as one would like quite easily anyhow... water has found its way to the base of the drwaers and have activated the flooding switch - one could pull it apart to dry it - tip the water out from the base but if the leaks not repaired you will have the same problem later and will be on-going.

I have a single draw F&P Dishwasher and get the error F1, turned off the power and still same problem, but in the last 2 or 3 loads of washing dishes not all the water has been gone, always about 2cm...

most likely you have a leaky drain hose.
Have you checked if sink drain is clear (no back flow)
Turn dishwasher power off.
Empty all the water using a small container and towels.
Get the drawer out (remove front cover first by taking the side pins out and carefully lifting it).

Check behind to see water lying on the floor of dishwasher housing. If leaky drain hose you will have to replace it.
Dry the base of the dishwasher (towels and dryer) otherwise F1 will not go away.

What does an F1 erroor message mean. I have a

F1 means "flood. there is a flood sensor underneath the drawer, and if there is any water under the drawer the control will show that error. Check the drain hose linkage for cracks. Remove drawer and dry the area underneath.

Son put normal dish washing liquid in top draw!

ok, the machine flooded and the water has leaked into the bottom of the machine, 1st turn off the machine at the power point. 2nd- open the top drawer and remove the suds from it. 3rd. open the bottom drawer and look under it to the bottom of the cabinet . that is where the water will be. use a torch if you have to. now you need to dry the water up. you can do this with a hair dryer or a fan heater. the reason the machine is flashing F1 is because the water has triggered the flood switch and you need to dry up that water. please reply 4 more help.once dryed F1 will disappear. please make sure all the suds are removed from the top drawer. good luck

F1 fault

F1 code would mean the flood switch is activated.

In Nautilus people have found this to be caused by a faulty door seal.
Water seeps under the diswasher base panel and finally the flood switch (a protection) activates.

The solution is to replace door seal after drying out under the base panel.

Fisher and Paykel dd605 The flood switch has tripped and is showing "F1 with spanner" on the display turned of for 24 hr still there pumps just running . this problem happened aftr my son put cloths...

F1 is a flood code meaning excessive amounts of water have collected on the bottom catch basin. If a flood condition is detected, both draws will activate the drain motors and flash F1. Remove the bottom drawer and dry the catch basin.

TURN OFF POWER TO MACHINE
Remove the front panel by removing two "pins". There is one on each side of the drawer, and they are at the bottom and circular with a recessed tab - like an inverted slotted screw.
You just pull the tabs straight out. After that you pull the front down and out.
Drawer is removed by depressing the tab on each side and sliding the support guide back.
Use a towel to remove excess water pooling, then a hair dryer to speed up the evaporation process of the remaining water.

There are three possible scenarios; 1. Defective lid motor(s)...Each drawer has two lid motors that pull the lid tight to the drawer when the cycle is started. (this was very common on early models) 2. Something too tall was placed in the drawer preventing the lid from closing completely. OR 3. (only seen this once) the drain hose developed a crack causing water to leak only when draining. Hope this helps....
