Ok, this is very simple. All you need to know is what port number you need to forward and either TCP or UDP. (ex. 200 TCP)
Open an internet browser and enter 192.168.1.1
Enter your password.
Go to Applications and gaming. Look for port range forwarding.(by the way upgrade your firmware)
Under the program name, put what you want.
enter the numbers of the port from the start-end port option.
Select the protocol(TCP or UDP)
Select the Ip address of the programs computer and enable. (BE SURE TO SAVE BEFORE CHANGING THE PAGE)

I just got a Canon Pixma MG5370, Im running an XP cp to network thru Netgear N300 then thru DSL, the N300 dangles a Netgear 8 port wired Switch. I cant get the dam printer to connect correctly to print,...

Set a static IP on the Canon printer
e.g.
IP: 192.168.x.x
Subnet mask: 255.255.x.x
Gateway: 192.168.X.1

DHCP should always be enabled on the router for your other devices to work.

I want to setup port forwarding on my Siemens Gigaset 572 router to allow FTP. How do I do this?

You shouldn't need to forward any ports to use FTP. It's like forewarding ports for HTTP or e-mail you dont do it...

How to stop torrents on DNA-A211-I bsnl wifi router ? please help

If you have access to the routers control panel
(the address should be something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
with user names and passwords as default, access, admin and so on. Try all of them in all) There should then be a menu to the left with something about ports- click that and follow the on screen instructions.

Disable these Ports 6881-6999( on TCP if the option is avaliable)

this SHOULD stop all bit torrent access. If you want to stop bit torrent all together close all ports. It can still be run through port 80 (the default web port)

Otherwise disable program access on each specific machine that uses Bit Torrent.

Cannot connect when hardwired thru router

HI! I bliv u are having some issue setting up ur router.. I will be more than glad to assist u. Dont use the setup cd, sometimes it works, sometimes its not. here are the steps u need to do:
1. press the reset button on the back of the router for 15sec.. after that unplug the router for 15secs then plug it back in..
2. connect the ethernet cable to port1 of the router and the other end to the lan port of your computer..
3. pull up ur browser then type at the url:192.168.1.1. it will ask u the username and password, by default the username is admin and the password, just leave it blank
4. it will show the setup page of the router. u can set the router on the specific internet setup that u have.
a. if ur isp is a cable company, normaly u need to do a mac clone on the router setup page by cloning the computer that is reg to the cable company, how to determine it. ex. the computer that is reg to the cable company is a desktop or laptop, if this computer is connected to the modem directly and u can access internet.
b. once u determined it u need to connect this computer directly to the router and do a mac clone and set ur internet settings to auto-dhcp..then save the settings and after that, unplug to the power of the modem and router, plug in 1st the power of the modem then once all lights lit, plug in the router, then once all lights lit, try to pull up a browser that ur computer is connected directly to the router.. ur cable connection shud be, cable from the modem will go to the WAN port of the router and connect ethernet cable on port1 going to the lan port of the computer..once u can access the internet, u can now access again the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.1.1 and u can setup the wireless settings, u need to create a ssid or wireless name and a security..
5. If ur isp is a dsl normaly they give u a username and password to connect to the internet, ur settings on the router should be PPPoe
6. If ur isp gives u a static ip address settings, u need to set the router to isp setup.
a. how to check the isp of the isp given to u..
1. click on start
2. run
3. type cmd
4. it will show a dos prompt
5. from the dos prompt type ipconfig/all
6. it will list the ip address, subnet, default gateway, dns server
this settings should be type in to the settings on the router for static ip addressing..

if you have any querry pls feel free to get in touch.. good luck

Can't find LAN address on etopia 3347

you can make the lan ips what ever you want them to be. The way you get thru firewalls, which on the router is NAT, is to set up mapping from your WAN ip to the LAN one you creat.

if you are saying instead, that you put the netopia in bridgemode, and are passing all the ips thru the router to the Check Point firewall you have set up behind it, then you need to configure your firewall correctly.

Port forward problem

you shouldnt need to put in a static ip. just put all the setting back to normal. Definately forward the ports. but allow the program through the routers and the computers firewall.

Changing com port numbers??

Some (older or less sophisticated) software expects a com port with a number no higher than 4.

If this is the case, try changing the GPS emulated / virtual com port in "windows | control panel | system | ports" to something less than 5.

Opening ports

Hi tazz,

Got to this link. Find your router in the list. Click on it, and then click on the prgram you want to port forward for. It will walk you thru the steps. If you can't find your program, try UltraVNC, which uses some of those ports!

Good Luck!
