Hi,

For a Whirlpool dryer F70 is an electronic control issue. It can be as simple as the wire came loose off the control in the top console or as complex as both control board and console electronics have failed. Here is what the manufacture says:

F:70
F:71
No
Communication
Between
Electronic
Assemblies
F:70 / F:71 flashes when there is no communication between
the machine control and the console electronics.
■ Check console electronics harness connections to the
machine control.
■ Replace the machine control electronics.

I swapped my wire from 3 to 4 wire on my kenmore 70 series dryer and now my dryer wont turn on. The breaker didnt trip and it worked at old house with 3 wire config. Any suggestions?

Bad news. You may need a new timer! Sorry. ( It happened to me)
Check with an electric meter your 4 pronged outlet for your dryer. The straight lugs holes should both show 110 volts. The "L" shaped and the round lugs should show "ground".
Now, go to the dryer back . There are 3 screws or nuts in a row for the incoming cord. The outside two screws or nuts are for the 110 volt service. On a 4 wire cord, these are usually red and black. The middle screw or nut is for the white ground, the green or blue wire goes to the body of the machine, not to the screw/nut panel.
I hope this helps. My error cost me a 90 dollar timer which I fried by mistake.
Be blessed.

My 70 series dryer the heating element is not working. I checked the heating coil for continuity and it is holding 12 ohms, the fuse has continuity and it has power. Flipped the breaker to se If that was...

your voltage is not right as it should be 220 volts, check the outlet to see if you have 220 if you do then its the cord, if not then it is either the outlet or the breaker-panel, to check panel remove panel and test both legs of the breaker you should have 220 if not then replace the 30 amp breaker. How do you turn off the dryer signal on kenmore 70 series dryer

On a 70 series dryer, the knob on the far right of the panel controls the signal. You can turn it left or right to set the signal to "On" or "Off."

If you've set it to Off and the signal still comes on, that switch that sits behind the knob is bad. It's the same switch that controls when the dryer starts. You can either try to repair it (by bending the contacts back into their original alignment) or replace it. A new switch is less than $10, and you can get one many places online, including from PartSelect.com:

63942 Dryer: how do you turn off the dryer signal on kenmore 70...

Hi, you can turn the signal off by using the start button on the dryer (located on the right side of the panel under the words "Push to start dryer"). Turn the knob to the left to turn the signal off, or to the right to turn it on. Each side should be labeled, but the lettering may have worn off over time.

If you've turned the knob to the left and it still signals at the end of a cycle, the switch that controls the signal may be broken.

Kenmore propane dryer 70 series does not lite

Hi,
Assuming the gas is on. The most likely problem is a bad ignitor. Remove the bottom front panel(pop 2 clips at the top of lower panel with a flat screwdriver) and turn the dryer on Look for the ignitor to glow. If the ignitor does not glow test leads to ignitor for power if you have power replace it. If the ignitor glows then you are not getting gas check to make sure the gas supply is on.
I hope this helps if you need further assistance please let me know.

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer Model# 110.64742400

check the thermal fuse if it is blown also change the high limit thermal cut-off fuse www.repairclinic.com shows your parts. go there and enter model number. Also check the heat element. to get into it remove the lint filter and the two screws you'll see there then pry the top up at the front corners. And through the back you should find the heat element and blower housing and thermal fuse and high limit fuse and cycling thermostat.
