You can use Windows Media Player's "Sync" function to transfer music from your music library to your phone, but you need a data cable to connect the phone to your computer, or you can use a USB memory card reader that allows the computer to see the memory card as if it were another drive. NOTE: The i880 can ONLY play music files in an .mp3 format; if they are in ANY other format, they will not even show up on the song list on the phone.

How do i download music from computer to my i880 and do i have to sync phone

Are you wanting the music for the MP3 Player? First of all you need to go to the media center in your phone menu and make sure you open a picture and then hit menu again click on remove the card. Once you get the message that says It is now safe to remove the card, remove your memory card, Your phone should have come with an adapter for your to insert into your computer, once you do this...it will open up the folders and then drag and drop music, pictures, etc to your phone but make sure you place music into the Audio file...the size of the memory card depends on the number of songs you can have on there.

Hope this helps!!

How do u put music on the phone

One of two ways... Either order a data cable of of ebay.. $15.00 or less.....
Or get a micro sd card reader.. $10.00 bucks at wall-mart.. If you use windows media player it will sync to the reader... If you use I tunes.. Plug in reader w/ card... go to my computer and pull up the reader. card should be formatted with images, music, vid, etc. Simply chose song from itunes and drag it to the minimized reader, and drop in music slot... Once you have music on your card be sure to go in settings, memory card, remove card, before you take out the card,or you might lose any unsaved data thats on your card...

Downloading music

Format the micro SD in the phone, then use the usb secure digital and adapter that came with your phone, in your computer and put the MP3's you want under the "music" sub file. Place the micro SD back in phone and enjoy. If you are afraid of this removal of the micro SD from the phone turn it off before you go out and in with the card.

if your computer has flash card readers, you would need to use a micro sd card to be able to use in on your computer. if your computer/laptop does not have a card reader, you would need to buy a data cable for your phone. if you use your pc/laptop's card reader, open your MY COMPUTER folder and it will be drive E. if you use a data cable, your phone should've came with a software cd when you bought it. you have to install your phone's software on your pc/laptop for transferring files using the data cable.

to put songs on the card for your phone to use, you just drag and drop the mp3 file to the MUSIC folder of the card. a lot of people make the mistake of putting it in the AUDIO folder. the phones music player CANNOT read files in the AUDIO folder. it only reads the music files if it's in the MUSIC FOLDER.

Nextel i-880

If you have a micro sdhc read/write to USB you can copy the files directly to the card
If you have a data cable you can copy them directly to the phone
They have to be placed in the music folder on the card though or the phone won't be able to access them.
If you look on eBay for either data cable i880 or SDHC read write you'll find plenty of them and they aren't very expensive if you look and have a little patience

Very Simple Solution. I have the same phone.
First you need a Data Cable that connects your phone to a USB port on your PC.
Secondly, go to http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/support/software/html/mp3_software.html
and download the mp3 loader.
Its very easy to use. good luck.
btw, I found a data cable on ebay for $5
