Scanner failure issue

1. try to clean the power going through the printer by having a working power source providing power to the printer and do the following:
a. Turn the unit off.
b.Unplug the power cord from the unit.
c. Wait 30 seconds, and then re-connect the power cord to the unit.
d. Turn the unit on.

2. do a partial reset:
a. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one. b.Press and hold Minus (- ) and 3

c. While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in.

d. Release the buttons after the all-in-one starts up.

Make a test copy of any document by pressing the Start Copy (black or color) button.

  • If this copy is successful, the scanner mechanism is functioning correctly.
  • If the failure remains unsolved, you have to check with HP directly.

3. . try to clean the bulbs and mirrors, this issue may be caused by not enough power getting to the bulbs or an issue with the the electrical components in the board.

good luck!

HP OfficeJet J5780 Vertical Black Line Prints when copying or scaning only. Cleaned rollers and changed black ink cartrigde. Still problem.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.

Missing printed lines form HP Officejet J5750 All in One printer

The cartridges may need to be cleaned by the printer. Check for this option on your user's manual, they will usually refer to it as a nozzle check/clean.
If the cartridge is clogged and does not unclog replace the ink cartridge. Contrary to what people might think these cartridges have a shell life and can be faulty out of the box.

Replacing ink cartridge

OKay, first, you grab under that control panel, you know, with the COPY, SCAN, PRINT, etc buttons? So you lift it up, and the whole top of the machine goes up. Wait a bit, and these cartidges should pop up. So grab the cartridge you wanna remove, and pull slightly down on it, and it should come out. Then, slide in the new cartridge slightly upwards, and viola! it should slide in. THen, close the top, and you have changed the ink! YAY!

Yellow won't print with old or new cartridge

Some ink jets are differant. Some have an Ink jet cartridge system that has the print head on the cartridge itself. Others use a seperate print head. When you pull out the ink cartridge is there another small unit below the cartridge that you can pull out? If so that is the print head and you will need to replace it. Also make sure that you have taken off the tape off of the air pilot hole on the ink cartridge so it can work properly.
