I have a Dish IR. Not sure of the model number. Uses 4 AAA batts. The problem I have is the every function seems to work fine except for the volume control. In order to change volume I have to use the TV...

It is possible that those buttons have failed, but a bit more likely the remote lost the codes for the TV itself... since almost everything the remote controls... is on the DVR. I apologize if I am guessing wrong in assuming other "TV" buttons (like INPUT) don't function either.

To re-program your remote to recognize your TV (like when the tech first set up the system) choose from the following receiver types to find the correct remote control TV codes for your Zenith.

Remote TV Codes for 722/622/612/411/222/211 Receivers
Remote TV Codes for 625/522/512/510/508/501 Receivers
Remote TV Codes for 811/381/322/311/301 Receivers

We have 2 TV that will not work with the dish remote I need help!!! the first TV is TCL ( The Creative Life) and the other is a Sansui where and how can i find the codes and what to do???

shannon_106, I can definitely help with that. You can find the most recent codes Here
Link: http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/techportal/content/tech/remotes/TechRemo5.3Code.shtml

To program the remote you will want to follow these steps:

1. Hold down the gray TV button until all lights on top of the remote light up.
2. Let go and while it is blinking enter the 3-digit code on the number pad and press #
3. Try the TV functions including volume/mute and power. If it works press SAT and you're good to go. If not repeat steps 1 and 2.

Press 2 to ensure Aux is set to audio. 3.Enter code 761 and press the pound (#) button. Now to have the satellite remote default volume to Bose Solo do the following. 1.Press and hold AUX 2.press # pound 3. Press the + side of volume 4. Press 0 5. Press pound ( AUX button will flash 3 times) 6. Press SAT mode 7. Test the volume on Bose Solo. (see page 22 of Bell 9242 guide)

Cannot access channel 73 on TV2

If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/625.shtml
Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu.
If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.

Dish Duo 625 TV 2 goes to a snowy screen randomly

Karin,
I am sorry to hear of your issue. I may be redundant but bear with me. In order to assure that the receiver is performing correctly. Change the cables on the back of the receiver. Move the cable on the in home distibution to the 3-4 out and vice versa. At TV1 change the TV itself to the channel TV2 was modulated to and see if you can watch tv error free for awahile.Do likewise on the TV2 location by going to CH3-4. Let them stay like this for an hour or so to replicate the issue. If the problem does not appear it would seem as though the receiver is fine. It also would appear that the cabling is fine also. If you are not having to reset the modulator than I would expect that the receiver is good once again. I would send a tech to your home and have him break the system down to the most basic configuration and progress from there. I personally suspect that there is a piece of hardware that is heating up and shorrting out such as a barrel, wallplate, or even an improperly prepared connector. Let me know what I can do to help you resolve the issue. If need be I will contact you local service provider to see that they assist you.
