SOURCE: How do I factory reset the Motorola A455 Rival?

  • Select Menu, Settings, and then Security.
  • Enter your lock code. (if you didn't change this when you got it it's the last four digits of your phone number ;) )
  • The Security menu is displayed.
  • Select Reset/Restore Phone.

It's different then most phones, so it took awhile to find this out. You have to enter your code twice before it works but thank god it works: )
Warning: This will change your phone back to factory settings. Your phone will still be active, however, all personal settings will be lost.

SOURCE: my motorola rival A455 cell phone got droped in water

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

I had the same problem with my rival. I used a universal USB charger. It worked fine for a month or so and then stopped charging completely. I went to the Motorola website and downloaded the charging driver. I haven't had a problem since.

You should replace your battery. When a battery is faulty or is getting too worn down, you get that message. First only sometimes, eventually it can be forever.

Problem: Transferring Music from Computer to A455 Rival Phone

Solution:

You can use the Micro SD card to transfer music and other media from your PC to the phone, and vice versa. The microSD card must be inserted for you to be able to view the storage card menus.

The A455 does support the MicroSDHC card.
The Rival can support up to an 8 GB Micro SD card.
