Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
Usualy when a laptop shuts off on it's own it is due to a hardware issue. The first thing is to blow out the fan and heat sink as it is most probably clogged up and overheating the Processor. You can do your oun diagnostics by doing these steps.. Pull out the battery and try to boot it on ac power. 2. pull out the dvd rom next and try the same. 3. pull out the hard drive and again try to boot it from ac. 4. pull one memory chip at a time and see if it boots. 5. pull out the wi-fi card and do the same. If you go thru all of this and it still will not boot it is something on the motherboard such as a video card or other hardware such as a lose AC Jack. Wiggle the jack while pressing the start button and see if this makes a diffrence. A very common issue with laptop's. If it is the Jack you need to find someone that knows what they are doing or you will have a good door stop! Good Luck Phil please email me and let me know what you find. firstname.lastname@example.org
