Question about HP Scanjet 8350 Flatbed Scanner
I have a 8460, similiar to the 8350 and I get the error "The specified scanner could not be selected" from the HP Smart Document Scan software. But the HP utils can find the scanner. MS paint can scan. HP Smart Document Scan seems to be the only thing that can't see the scanner. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: unable to scan
Make sure you have microsoft word installed i you computer.
But if you want to scan a document you can also scan it to HP Document Viewer.
First open solution center/HP Director and try to scan from document> then in the optin which says where do you want to send the scanned image> click on the drop down and check to see yu have the option of word> if yes select the option of word and try to scan.
If not Open HP Solution center/HP Director and go to settings> Scan settings> Scan to setup> Go to> Destination List> And click on Restore defaults and check to see if you have the option of word in the availabe list and front panel destination list> then click on apply ad ok and close all the windows and then try and check to see if you get the option of scan to word.
