SOURCE: The presser foot came off Brothers sewing machine

position the foot under the shaft making sure the horizontal pin on the foot is in line with the horizontal groove on the end of presser foot fitting on the shaft. Lower the pressor foot arm and it should snap right on. If not, press it up manually. the directions should be in your manual. If you don't have your manual, you can get it online at www.brother-usa.com

SOURCE: Are pfaff 1475cd sewing feet compatible with pfaff 1151 machine

Hi. Some Pfaff machines have something called an "IDT" which looks rather like a small, black walking foot behind the pressure foot, to help feed the fabric evenly. Pfaff machines with this IDT need "IDT" pressure feet. (I can't find a listing of which machines have this and which don't, so you'll have to look at your machines or check your manuals.) If both machines have the IDT, then the feet are compatible. If neither has the IDT, then the feet are also compatible.

Hope this helps!

Happy Sewing,

Robbie

It really depends on what your zipper foot looks like. There are several that can be used with the Pfaff machines.

The presser foot on my Pfaff Tipmatic 6122 will not stay down, so the fabric will not feed.

It sounds like the pressed bar is sticking and will not push down completely and is difficult to lift. I have come across them many times on the older pfaffs. Unfortunately that is not sometime that can be fixed at home. It is caused by the lube going bad inside the pressed bar that lubbricates the spring that is inside the pressed bar. Find a pfaff dealer that knows about older pfaffs and they should be able to help.

Can the presser foot be raised slightly on pfaff tiptronic 2030 to facilitate free motion quilting? There is not enough clearance with feed dogs down to freely move material to quilt. Thank you.

You need a special foot for free motion quilting--it is slightly shorter in height than a regular presser foot, which essentially provides space between the presser foot and the needle plate to manually move the fabric. Sometimes machines came with a standard darning foot accessory. Your Pfaff dealer probably has at least one style in stock. But there are other specialty feet you can probably use, ie Big Foot, clear free motion foot, C-shaped, oval, etc. You can also purchase a shank adapter (verify it is the correct shank for your machine) and use it with a kit of snap-on presser feet so you can have a variety of presser feet for different functions.

This is common with older pfaff sewing machines. Remove the old oil it has hardened into a lacquer like material. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. lubricate work the foot up and down. repeat.... repeat..... until it loosens up.

Can't get my presser foot to fall down when I let go of the lifter on my Pfaff 6085 sewing machine

Sounds as if the spring for the presser bar is broken OR the presser bar is dirty and needs cleaned and oiled.

You may not be using the correct presser foot for your machine.

You may be using a low shank when your machine needs a high shank.
