Question about Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop
It sounds very much like you have set a machine password in the BIOS. At this level, nothing works unless you enter a password. But--you haven't said if it actually asks for a password. So at startup, press the key to get into the BIOS (probably F2) and see what it says.
